any help is much appreciated.

1) how and who do i request specific rooms for my stay at the beginning of september.

2) can you smoke on the balconies of non smoking rooms.

You can request certain rooms on your reservation. You can also call a week in advance to request a room.

Balconies and certain rooms are often very hard to get at the Portofino as there aren't very many of them. But requesting one never hurts!

To answer your other question, no, I do not believe it is allowed to smoke on the balcony of a non-smoking room.
