Hi UK Dissers

Just a quick question as I'm trying to help a friend of my sisters who lives in the UK and is starting to plan a trip to Disney this September.

I've heard that she should book her resort and park tickets over in the UK because there are special UK deals. Is this true? She is booking her travel separately because she is first flying to Maine and then heading to Orlando from Maine directly.

Any help would be greatly appreciated :)

Thanks!

I believe you can only buy the Disney Ultimate tickets in the UK - this might be what you were thinking of.

These tickets are great value if you intend to mainly visit Disney parks.

Welcome to UKTP, clomhony. I love your city. :goodvibes

Yes, there are UK specific passes and various official re-sellers. You can check out the details here.

Two weeks is the standard trip duration for those from the UK, so the 14 Day Ultimate is a popular choice (it's effectively just a length of stay pass). They're not necessarily better value so you may need to do some comparisons based on their likely touring itinerary. Many of us here are regular visitors and opt instead for APs or MYW tickets.

The same applies to accommodation. There are UK specific deals available via Disney.co.uk and certain tour operators. Again, they're not necessarily cheaper.

I've also found that a copy of the book "Brits guide to Orlando" was really useful.

WDW Travel Co here in the UK can provide flight inclusive holidays too I found them to be a good price when we booked with them. We get a few perks as onsite guests like preferred fireworks viewing, SeaRacers buy 90 hire time get 30 minutes free, one free round mini-golf or regular golf per booking as well as the $15 off merchandise at Planet Hollywood. So we got a great deal on our hotel and flights and park passes (yes 14 day Ultimate) and we have Magical Express to shuttle us to and from the airport. As we are taking direct flights we leave the UK at 10.25 a.m. and arrive at about 3 p.m. local time which is great we get to check in in daylight hours and enjoy some time at the resort.

Currently if you compare hotel prices on the US disney site to the UK prices, it does work out cheaper for us brits to book on the UK site.

Also there are more often than not special offers, (free dining, but 10 nights get 4 free etc.) so I'd imagine the UK site would be better for her if she wants to stay on site.

I would second the WDW travel company here in the UK if she already has her flights sorted - many hotels have free dining if you buy 14 day pass for disney. It depends on how long she is planning on going to Disney for, where she wants to stay, also party sizes etc. we booked Saratoga for Sept and got good price.

Thanks for the info and being a native DC resident, I really don't appreciate my city enough but we do go to the zoo a lot. Thanks for the info. She's planning to stay for 5 days but she's just starting to realize how much there is to do at WDW so this may be the first of many trips.

Thanks for the info. I have to make sure to remind her about the Magical Express especially since since is likely to stay at the Polynesian on the monorail. I'll also direct her to the UK disney site. :yay:

Thanks for the info. I've forwarded her the UK Disney site so I think she will book there. I'm so envious of her trip especially since it will be her and her daughter's first trip. There's nothing that compares to that magic you feel the first time. Hopefully I convert her to another Disser. :cool1:
