need to get this out:( UPDATE post #30

Sending your and your husband good thoughts and prayers  Please let us know what you find out.

Waiting is definitely tough. We have had plenty of "waiting periods" here.

I had a lipoma removed from my back a few years ago. Of course we are all hoping and praying for good news for you guys and definitely keep us posted.

Hope everything turns out well and it is nothing serious.

Please keep us posted. Just remember.... the odds are overwhelmingly in your favor of this being nothing serious. Also, if the doctors suspected cancer, there is no way, they would let it go another week. Your dh would've had that lump taken out by now. Not worrying is certainly easier said than done, though. Ya'll are in my thought and prayers.

Don't you just hate the waiting? They tell you that you have something, but they don't know what and then make you wait for the results! Here's some positive thoughts coming your way. :lovestruc

I think the waiting IS the hardest part....at least if we knew something we would know what we were facing...right now it is just a big WHAT IF game.

we got the call this morning, its just a limpoma! :worship: he is going to see the surgeon this week.I am so happy, now we can enjoy our trip and not spend it with worry on our miinds! He will have to get it removed soon though because of his uniform, he wears a bulletproof vest and a 35 lb gun belt everyday that pushes on it so it cause a good amount of pain.
Does anyone know what they will do to remove it? or recovery time?

That is so great! Congratulations!!!

I actually had one removed from my abdomen last year. It was on the left side below my rib cage. They did laparoscopic surgery and I went home the same day. I was feeling back to normal within a couple days.

Then again...I've had 3 kids...one with a c-section. Men might feel differently!:thumbsup2

But I'm sure it will be an easy surgery for him and wish you all the best. Have an awesome trip!

did you have stitches or tabs to cover the area? we are just trying to figure out if its ok for him to do it BEFORE our trip or if it something that he needs to wait for until we get home? We leave in 2 weeks.

Great news!!

But, why do "they" make people wait through a weekend for results? That just seems so cruel.

Enjoy your vacation!!

yeh it was cruel...the worst thing is the ultrasound lady said "no that doesnt look like a cyst,no fluid" so then we spent the whole weekend thinking "oh no what is it?"!

I believe I had stitches that dissolved on their own. I don't remember going to have them taken out. If they could do it this week or early next week, I think he would be pretty much back to normal by vacation. When do you leave?

Mine was on my back - upper back - below the shoulder somewhat. Picture a baseball/tennis ball cut in half and place it on my back.

It was done in the hospital under local. Went home same day and was back at work within a few days. The doctor said I could handle the local since I had a spinal c-section and two other c-sections under general.

Good luck.

Good news!

I had one about the size of 2 golf balls in the crook of my arm - eventually made it painful to bend my arms. They're harmless and benign so they generally don't remove them unless they cause pain or discomfort, like your husband.

I had it done outpatient at the regular hospital by a plastic surgeon. (Don't ask me why a plastic surgeon, that's where my GP sent me.) I think he did it with local anesthetic and I also had stuff with an O2 mask that made me sleep. I had a good size scar and I had to wear my arm wrapped for a while. I was out of work for a week or so while it healed. I had regular stitches, and it's a good sized scar, but it's light and barely noticeable. Honestly, I would wait until after your trip unless you could get it done, like, tomorrow. In a spot like the abdomen, he could end up healing quickly but still being sore for quite a while and could put a damper on the vacation fun.
