Last week my dh went to the dr,he had a small lump in his stomach near his bellybutton and it hurt.Well they thought it could be a cyst(fluid) so they send him for a ultrasound (i kinda liked that because I have had to get a million of those!) anyway...it did NOT have fluid,it was NOT a cyst it was a solid mass! They said they would call in a few days! I have sooooo scared.I know he is also but him being a tough manly man (a cop) he will not say...he has been trying to do home fixes over the weekend and I heard him checking on insurance on the phone.:sad1:
I have so freaked out, I dont know what I would do without him..he is only 33 yrs old! We are leaving in 2 weeks for our late (many many years late) honeymoon that we never had...at the POLY.I am so worried, what if this is the last? I know I should worry this soon but I do tend to think of the worst!:scared1: I just wanted to get this out....We are going to be seeing a surg. next week about biopsy ...only me and his best friend knows and his bf is as scared as I am so thats no help...

I am sorry you are going through this. Prayers for a fast diagnosis and easy and healing for your DH and for you during this stressful time.

 You must be very worried. Try to keep busy to keep your mind occupied and try not to let your mind jump straight to the worst scenario.

That does sound scary. I would be worried too. :grouphug:Just because there is a mass doesn't necessarily mean that it's cancerous. Hopefully it will turn out to be benign and something easily resolved.

I'm saying a prayer for your hubby, please don't worry yourself to the point of being sick. Did they mention it could be a fatty lipoma? My dh had these in several spots, and they are solid fatty deposits that are harmless, but if they are in an area where they cause pain or hurt, they are surgically removed. Best wishes for a good outcome. Keep us posted.

good luck! The waiting is really the worst part, it sucks to wait when of course your mind is going to all the worst case scenarios. I hope it turns out to be benign and easily removed

yeh they said since it hurt they would have to remove whatever it is....I am just beside myself though...I have the most perfect dh...he is so good to me and the kids, a hard worker ,a great dad and my best friend.I feel sick just thinking about it.I can tell he is acting like he is not worried and THAT worries me more...I know silly huh? He is my rock and we have been through everything together but now its him with the problem.....and HE is the person that I go to about things like this.:confused3

Well, I won't tell you not to worry. I completely understand your fear and would be as frightened as you.

Cancer is always the huge fear, and for good cause. However, it really, really could be something much simpler and not as frightening as that at all!

He's a cop. He's going to face it head on, and in the meantime do what he thinks needs to be done to get ready for the worst case scenario. He knows what the worst cases can be. He sees that every day at work. He also knows that it could be far better than the worst case scenario, because he sees that too! Cops need to take action, to resolve situations, to help, to keep everyone safe. It's what they do and what he's doing now.

In a few short weeks, you'll be at the Polynesian with your wonderful husband cracking open a bottle of champagne and toasting to the wonderful lives you have together and are going to have for many, many more years.

It's hard to focus on that right now, but you will be there, looking back (not laughing by any means) and breathing a huge sigh of relief.

You love each other now. ::yes:: Your love is only going to grow in strength as you walk through this whole event!

Take care now, stay strong (because you really are!) and keep your eyes on the holiday you have in your very near future.

Gosh, I'm sorry you guys are going through this. Please try to stay in reality instead of projecting all the worst case possibilities. It could be a removable mass with no repercussions at all. Focus on a good future; it's probably what is in your life. Breathe and relax. Focus on today and today only, make it a good day.

Try not to worry. Whatever it is, you and your husband and his doctor(s) will do your best to take care of it.

I know a little of how you're feeling. I have a granuloma I need to get removed, hopefully tomorrow. My doctor said there's a possibility it could be cancerous (though he doesn't believe it is). It's very scary.

 Things will be ok. Just take somem deep breaths and don't waste time worrying over something that may just be a benign growth.

Most lumps turn out to be benign. It could be as simple as a "lipoma" which is a fatty benign tumor that often occur on the abdomen.

I did a little looking around about that and it does sound like what it could be...I am hoping that it what it is...the dr. kind touched it and could move it around a little and she said that if it moves a little it may not be something like a tumor because she could feel it moving...I dont know, they are the docs so all we can do is let them do their job...at least we have good med insurance and can get whatever needs to be done...it just scares me because this is the man that I am looking forward to be old with:) we have had almost 7 yrs of being 100% HAPPY! I now most people dont even get that but darn it I want my other 50!

Waiting is always the hardest part. There are many things it could be. And the vast majority of them won't be something that he'll die from. So try to put that biggest fear to rest. I know it's hard.

Don't you just hate the waiting? They tell you that you have something, but they don't know what and then make you wait for the results! Here's some positive thoughts coming your way. :lovestruc
