Originally we weren't planning on going to Universal. I figured eventually we would hit it in Florida. BUT someone from CA highly suggested we go. Is it really worth it? Can I get the same "feel" of Universal at Florida?

I am down to 3 things I want to do...

1. Beach day
2. Universal day
3. Sightseeing day

wondering which of those I should drop, or combine somehow???

need lots of HELP!!!!!

I think alot depends on how many park days you already have. I like to have any many off days doing other things as I do park days. Doing park after park after park gets old to me. I for sure say keep the beach and sightseeing days! Those were our favorite!

what places did you go for your sightseeing? did you use a company, or did you do it on you own?

We rented a car and did sightseeing on our own. We knew there were several places that we wanted to hit.

We went in May and again in October. We hit Malibu. I have a cousin who lives up by there so we swung be his house first and then drove through the Canyons over to the beach area. It was just beautiful. On our drive back then we drove along the PCH.

Went to Santa Monica Pier and enjoyed the amusement park for a bit and the beach. Huntington Beach was our favorite. So nice that there are piers all over the place.

We also did the whole Hollywood thing and went to the Disney Soda Shop. It was excellent. I would have loved to hit the El Capitan but it just never worked out that we had enough time to watch a movie too. Just seeing the Kodak Theatre and Graumann's and everything else is alot of fun on Hollywood Blvd. The 2nd time we did take a little van tour throughout Beverly Hills. It was not something we had planned but went spur of the moment. We enjoyed it but not something that I must do.

I just love the Hollywood sign. I have always loved it for some reason. We hit Rodeo Drive and looked around for a while. I had been a few of these places before when my uncle lived in Beverly Hills but it was different and fun still. I am not a huge fan of the stars so i wasn't out looking to see anybody. I think those that go and think they are really going to see someone are setting themselves up for disappointment.

I am sure we did more but mind is drawing a blank right now. We just really enjoyed all of the area and being able to drive around and go where we wanted. I live in Atlanta though so used to the traffic issues and crazy drivers. Honestly, I didn't think LA was that bad.
