Need to choose a mod -- mid-August, girls only trip! Help!

Well, you may have read the post from me last week about upgrading to a moderate. I think we're going to do it! But now I need help deciding which moderate would be the best. Here are the details to help us decide:

--Just two adults -- my sister and myself
--Staying mid-August (8/13-17)
--We're driving so we'll have a car
--Eating at Boma for breakfast one morning

So we need a moderate resort that will fit into our "criteria". Not too busy laughing: ), fairly quiet, easiest access to AKL because we'll probably be driving there for our breakfast ressie.

I originally thought POR would be the best. I am still leaning towards it but I'm not 100% decided yet. I would like to hear from others who've stayed at the mods what you're suggestion would be and why. Sis has never stayed on site, and I've only stayed at AKL and ASMu.

This will be a busy, busy trip for us and we plan to get up at the crack of dawn and stay up until late, late. (Yes we will be exhausted by the end of the trip!) We may use the pool but more than likely we won't have time. We need something with really good bus service, that's probably a top priority.

Alright. I'm ready for lots of suggestions!

If you are looking for a "quiet" Mod, look into POFQ. Very nice mod and quiet. Close to everything. I stayed there 4 years ago and was very pleased.

Closest mod to AKL would be CSR though I'd recommend staying at POFQ. It's quiet and small so it's closer to things than the others. It's just relaxing there.

I highly recommend the POFQ. While it is not the closest to the AKL it is a really nice resort. Its compact, so all the buildings are close the food court and the bus stop. The themeing is really beautiful and the whole feel of the resort is just peaceful and laid back.

My best friend and I did a girl's only trip a few years ago at CSR. We loved it! (And I've stayed there two more time since). It's a little on the big side, but I like all the different areas, and the pool/pool bar is really fun.

It's the closest to AKL and I think the morning we drove over to Boma for breakfast this last trip it took maybe 6 minutes.

Definitely CSR! You can visit the spa for a massage, the salon to get your hair and nails done, use the tanning beds, and then go out for the evening at the Rix Lounge. You won't even have to leave the resort. CSR is also the closest mod to AKL.

Besides what everyone has already said, there's a great lounge there with good live entertainment. Perfect way to kick back with a drink after a day in the parks.

Plus, as far as CSR vs POFQ, French Quarter has a food court, which I think is easier to navigate, quicker, and cheaper than the Pepper Market. Plus, POFQ has beignets... yum.

POFQ - building 1 or 6 (near river, quiet and close to everything) - ask for a corner room with 2 windows.

I agree. Add to that close to the AKL breakfast, easy drive to everywhere, and it's a stunning resort especially at night.

The only reason I would be drawn to POFQ/POR is the boat to DTD if you want to go down and "party" and not drive. The boat would be nice over a bus. But CSR has great bus service !!

My 1st pick would be POFQ (has Boat ride to DTD--Restaurants, Clubs, Cirque)
and then 2nd CSR (seems geared more for Adults)

One thing that is concerning me are the mixed reviews on the POR and POFQ buses. It seems that the buses tend to be very busy. And this concerns me since we will be traveling in the summer, even if it is considered value season, and the crowds could still be rather large.

I haven't read any bad bus reviews about CSR. Does anyone have any "bus" opinions about it?

Definitely CSR! Much more to do at this resort.

CSR has the best bus service of the three you are looking at. It is not shared like POR and POFQ.

Another vote for CSR! CSR has four lounges (including the new Rix Lounge), a spa, and salon. The food is good and no problems using the Pepper Market.

This is my favorite moderate resort!!! It's small & compact, so it's easy to get everywhere here. The food is great (especially the beignets - very addicting!!) and so is the staff. I find it's pretty quiet.

Have stayed at POR & CBR and hated both. Way too spread out for my taste and had really bad service.
