Hi.
My we are planning a family reunion at WDW with us getting everyone a room. 1 - 2 bedroom and 4 - studios. I couldn't get our first choice - the week after xmas - so on to my second choice a week in Feb. My question is should I be calling every day or just once at the end of the week? Also what happens if you get some of the rooms but not some in the middle of the week? That is my fear. I feel more comfortable calling just once but I really want to get rooms. So I would call everyday. We don't really care which resort only that we are all together.
Thanks

Feb can be busy at the DVC resorts so, if you're worried about getting all of your dates, you should probably call daily to have the best shot at getting your reservation.

It sounds as though you haven't made an 11 month reservation at your home resort and are relying on the 7 month window. You may also find the waitlist to be important.

Good Luck!

Are you talking about February 2003? You're looking at the 7 month window? If so, I would call the day before you can book the first night and ask what availability looks like so you can make a better decision. President's Day weekend would be the most difficult, you're more likely to get something at the beginning of the month.

If you can call every day, do it. There is no harm and no one really minds. For the number of rooms you are looking for, I would.

Why not call and ask about your home resort? You are still outside the 7 month window for some of what you are looking for. Get a reservation there or go on a wait list there before the 7 month window opens and many more people get on the wait list ahead of you.

Then at the 7 month window try the other resorts. When the 7 month window opens, there may be a lot of movement. The earlier you get on a wait list the better.

Follow what DebbieB says about checking availability when the 7 month window opens. Then you won't have to worry as much.

When I decided that we were going to WDW from Dec 29-Jan 4, I called MS every morning at the 11 month window(We own at VWL) They did ask me what the total number of days was going to be and the check out date. I think that they did make a note on my ressie but they could not book any days before the 11 month window. So faithfully, I called daily and it's true, they didn't mind at all! Good Luck!

Thanks for the replies. Our home resort is HH. So we are using the 7 month window. Looks like I will be calling everyday. Just hope I can get all the rooms for the whole time! Thanks again

A lot also depends on what resort you're looking for. OKW historically has had the best availability because of it's size. And because of OKWs relaxed atmosphere, I think i would be great for a reunion. If you want your rooms near each other, be sure to request it on your ressies.

Have you considered trying to get a grand villa at OKW? It seems as though you are already using that many points anyway, with a 2 bedroom and 4 studios. If the points are about the same, try to get it, as the value is really exceptional. I couldn't stand all my family together in one villa, but if you all get along, that might be just the thing for you. LOL

That would be a scary thought all of us in a grand villa!!! We could do it with inlaws and one of the other couples....but the rest....lets just say that everyone having there own space is a good thing!!! LOL

:p :p I can see it, request rooms for all the people you like in the South Point area of OKW, and the ones that cause conern can be on Miller's Rd. - or - Ooops!, I got all but one room at OKW - Sorry, you have to stay at VWL :D

We will be in a GV at OKW in 2/2003. OKW is our home resort, and we were advised to call day-by-day even at the 11 month window. We are in, but still worried until we booked that last day.

We will have both sets of inlaws, a sister and nephew. Eight total, but we realized that the GV is larger than our 3br house. We will survive. :earsboy: Five others will be staying elsewhere at OKW, and dining with us at the GV.
