Of course I buy Microids (small robotic toy) for my son for XMAS. Of course it takes 4 batteries - LR44 - that will last only 40 minutes. No, this is not a misprint - 40 minutes. :headache:

I almost had him convinced to return them, but he really loves them. Does anyone have a good discount online battery supplier?

Thanks and hope you all had a great holiday.

I have a couple suggestions for you.

1. Can you get rechargeables?

2. IKEA! They have great deals on various sizes, not sure if they offer the one you need though.

3. www.batteryguys.com We've ordered from them many times, their prices are tremendous, even if you have to pay duty,

Anne

Thank you Ducklite. I will check out the website you mentioned. Have a great New Year.

I have gotten a good price on rechargable batteries at BJ's, also cheap reg batteries.

My mom always gets batteries from the dollar store, she says they last just as long as "expensive" brand batteries. Hope that helps!

My local news station just did a test on 4 different batteries to see which one lasted the longers using the same toy.

They tested: Duracell, energizer, everready ( gold or ultimate, something like that), and dollar general brand.

Dollar General was the best for your money, not the expensive brands

I also buy batteries at the dollar store, usually Dollar Tree, they seem to work just as well as the brand names.

I always buy my AAs at Ikea. I have bought batteries at dollar tree that were completely out of juice.

Make sure to check the sales flyers for local pharmacies. We stocked up on 16 packs of AA and AAA batteries from CVS for $1.00 per pack just before the holidays. When they ran out of 16 packs, they were selling packs with 20 batteries for the same price.

I'd also go with the dollar store batteries - or else return the toy because it is costing too much to play with it.

Or try a maintenance supp,ly company. I knwo this sounds strange, but my Dh works for one and thier batteries are way cheap- we spent $14 for 4 packs of AA (with 10 per pack) and 1 pack of EVERY other size- from AAA to the 9-volt. That was an aweseom deal.

If you have Menards around you, they have a buy one get one free coupon this week. Buy one 24 pack of AA for 7.99 get another free. 48 AA's for 7.99. I stocked up.
