There are 12 of us going on a May 6th Western next year. My FIL just told us he was getting married and of course would want his new wife to be in the same stateroom as him. We already have a cabin booked for my FIL to be shared with two of his grandkids. Can we just add a new person to his cabin without having to cancel the reservation and rebook?

Thanks!

You can certainly add her on, only if the number of people work though..Sounds as if she will make 4? that will be fine...If the price has gone up however, you must pay the going rate...It may be cheaper, as now you will have two adults in the room, and it sounds like you booked one with 2 children..Hope that makes sense.. :confused3 Call and add her on ASAP though, in case it were to sell out.. :)

what category is your FIL and 2 grandkids in?

If it's a room that only sleeps 3 right now, you cannot add a 4th. They'd have to change cabins to one that sleeps 4.

This is a great big maybe.

As mentioned above, if the stateroom you have booked only sleeps 3, you need to book a different cabin, that sleeps 4, if there is one available.

Even if the cabin can sleep 4, you may not be able to add someone to the room. There is a maximum capacity for the ship that is less than the total number of beds availabe. So they may have reached capacity for the ship but still have empty beds. If this is the case, you would not be able to add an extra person to the room.

Only way you will know is to call.

I would go ahead and add the extra person immediately, then if things change you can cancel that person and get your deposit back up to 90 days out I think. But the sooner you book, the cheaper it will be.

I have never heard of the ship reaching the adult capacity and turning adults away, I have however heard of it reaching the child capacity and turning kids away....not to say that it has never happened, just that I haven't heard of it....

It happened to someone here several months ago. And even when there is availability in other cabin categories, its happened that another adult couldn't be added to a room that slept four because the lifeboats in that section were full.

Thanks for all your responses. My TA was out yesterday so I was unable to call. She took care of it for me today - no problems, no hassle whatsoever. We are even saving money now that 2 adults are in the room and my daughter won't be charged an adult price - yippee.
