Need tips on saving $ on rental car

Hi all,

We are planning to stay off-site for our early March 05 trip and need to rent a car which holds 3 adults, two children, a stroller, and some luggage. I'm astounded by the prices of renting a car!

Can someone direct me to money-saving tips for a first time car renter?
