Hi All!

We're staying in a DVC 1-Bedroom Villa at the Boardwalk in two weeks for the first time. We'll have two toddlers and two grandparents with us as well. Please share any tips or helpful information about how to navigate getting to Epcot and HS from the Villas!

Is it a longer walk to one particular park?
How does rope drop work if we enter in at a different place than the front of the park?
Is the boat faster?
Should we consider the buses even if we're close to Epcot and HS?

All help is appreciated!

It's probably too far of a walk to HS for toddlers and grandparents, but Epcot is about a 5 minute walk. The other option is to take a boat. I don't believe there are buses from BW to HS or Epcot.

Oh we love the BW and hope you will too. The 1BD villa's are fantastic!

The fastest way to get from the BW to EPCOT is through BW area and take the path to the RT to EPCOT. There is a boat launch in front of the BW area, the boats go from the BW to EPCOT. The boats are slower than walking, but easier on your feet. I think it takes about 5min for us to walk to EPCOT from BW.

The boat also takes you to DS, the boat goes from BW, YC/BC, Swan/Dolphin then the DS. It is slow, but again easier on the feet. You can take a left in the BW area to find the walking path to DS. It takes me 10-15min to walk there depending on how tired I am.

There is no bus to EPCOT or DS, it's walking or the boat. You can always Uber, Cab or Mini Taxi it for a cost.

Rope drop is the same for DS everyone enters at the same place.
Rope drop at EPCOT is different. You enter EPCOT through the International Gateway. You can walk through EPCOT to get to your ride of choice. We do not really find any difference between the IG entrance and the Front entrance for RD.

If you need to get to the Front of EPCOT for a tour or something, we always take a cab or Uber.

The buses are great! Takes you to Disney Springs, AK and MK.

Is it a longer walk to one particular park? Epcot is about a 10 minute walk and HS is about twice as far

Is the boat faster? No, but will probably be easier on the toddlers and grand parents
Should we consider the buses even if we're close to Epcot and HS? No buses to Epcot or HS, walk or boat only.

All help is appreciated!

Four adults and two toddlers in a BWV one bedroom? Yikes, that will be crowded. A BWV one bedroom only has one king bed and one queen sleeper sofa.

Our BWV Studio was close to the end of the hall so we frequently went down the stairs and exited behind Jellyrolls, but that won't work for you. We actually took the boats more than I thought we would, if you see one coming from the Yacht & Beach club docks to the Boardwalk, that one should be heading to Epcot next, so hop on. If you see a boat leaving the Boardwalk and heading to the YC/BC dock, you can probably walk over to the Swan/Dolphin dock and catch it on its way to HS. The boats are slow.

The same crew did one suite in AoA last year so we'll be fine! The toddlers sleep in pack n plays and the adults will have the beds.

We always walk it to both parks. With toddlers, I still walk to Epcot. I'd probably walk to Swan/Dolphin and catch the boat from there. The villas are on the HS side of the resort so the walk to HS isn't really that far.

I agree with this. Unless there is an EP boat right at the BWI boat dock, it's a fairly quick walk to EP (5-10 minutes tops). For DHS, we love walking (and the villas are quite close to the DHS path), however, it is longer than the EP walk. If you exit the villas and head to the Swan/Dolphin boat dock, you will only be one stop away from DHS. We do this heading back to BWI as well. Otherwise, BWI is the first and last stop to/from DHS and feels like it takes forever.
