I am not a pin collector per se. I have a lanyard full and I just like the fun of trading pins on our visits to WDW. Each trip I try to collect a certain theme....
all red, white and blue, all Mickey's, or all Minney, or Pluto, etc. Our next trip is coming up in a couple weeks...I'm looking for ideas for pin themes.
:)

My brother and dad like to collect sets each time, once they did the fab 5 as pirates of the caribbean set and another time they did all the dollar bill type pins with the fab 5 on them. The vinylmation is a big set you can also try to collect.

A good number of my pins are Chip and Dale

I like to do a patriotic theme each time. I have also done Flying machines, Villains, Food items, Holidays. So many pins!!!! So much fun!!!!!

I collected a lanyard full of Tink pins - but only the Tinks with glitter wings.

My next theme will be Big Hero 6 or at least Baymax pins.

We kind of do a running theme--attraction pins and special events (parties, holidays, etc.). Won't buy the pin unless we did it (attraction) or were there for the event/holiday.

My one son tried to get all the fountain pins. My Niece who works there is looking for Bowling Pin pins.

Hotel and resort pins... and the added bonus of visiting all the hotels to find them means you might find a hotel you want to stay in.

I always look for Minnie dressed as characters.... my prized possession is a minnie as mary poppins :)

I went for cupcakes one year. They are adorable.

What I do is basically the first day look at pins until one pops out at me - - then that's what I start going for that trip.

This trip I tried to trade for all Hercules pins- it was a challenge. I only ended up trading for one, and bought one. It was a fun hunt though!

We do the same, my DD looks for pins she has experienced and have been her faves, she has 28 pins now from past trips, she loves to wear them because she has so many cool ones, however they are heavy and we always worry they will get lost, fall off, anyone have suggestions for wearing them?

Since you'll be there in a few weeks, why not do a "love" theme for Valentine's Day? There's lots of Couples...Lady/ Tramp, Mickey/ Minnie, Daisy/ Donald, etc and there are also Valentines Day specific pins. I like to do the holiday pins for something a little more 'unique'.

I like the idea of the resort pins! Will be taking one no-park day on our upcoming trip and will spent it touring the resorts.

I have a friend that hunts and collects all pins from attractions at DHS, he has pounds from every attraction that had ever existed ever since it opened and was MGM
