Need the boards help-Christmas Time

DGF has decided she wants to go the week of Dec 7th for 4 days. We would either fly out of Sea or Portland,or. I need help from those who watch the specials on airfare and a close room for two during that time period. I have to travel a bunch for the next 30 days so if you all could help out I sure would appreciate it. I will respond with my phone.

Hi Jack. Did a quick search for you. You can still get the Expedia special at Paradise Pier for those dates -- $100/night. Great rate! Just go to Expedia, plug in your dates and Anaheim CA, and look for Paradise Pier.

I also checked southwest.com for you. My favorite airline -- some people don't like them. But they have unlimited changes without a fee, first two checked bags are free, and lots of other perks. Anyway, it looks like you can get from SEA to SNA for around $200pp rt if you pick the flights right. Not a bad deal. They also fly from Portland, and into LAX; you could check those airports, but a quick check looked like SEA-SNA was your best bet.

HTH. Have a great trip. Should have relatively low crowds during that time.

If you're going Sea-Lax on 12/7-12/10 you can get $159/person round trip including taxes on Alaska, Northwest, United, Virgin & American. I'm not sure which is better for baggage fees but there's the plain airfare cost. If you go the 12/8-12/11 the prices jump up to $179/person round trip.

If you're going out of Portland it's going to cost you more. Portland to Santa Ana/Orange County is running $260 roundtrip per person with taxes on US Airways and $270 on United.

If you don't have much time to look check out Kayak.com. That's where I got the airfare info from. It compares airfare for all the major airlines except southwest to find you the cheapest ones. And it has a section for hotels and finding the cheapest ones as well. There's also sidestep.com that does the same thing.

Thanks Grandbob and Carebee21 for all the info. Just got into NY a couple of minutes ago. Is there an AP out there that can check the AP rates for 12/7-12/11 for the 3 DLR hotels?

Is the halloween overlay still up and going at that time?

Not an AP yet -- bought the Costco voucher, which we'll turn into APs in a couple of weeks. But many on this board have reported that the AP rates can't compare to the $400 off for 4 day offer, which is how Expedia gets to $100/nt on Paradise Pier. I

Don't know, but I suspect the Halloween overlay will be taken down by then, except HMH, which stays thru Christmas. But the Christmas decorations and overlays will all be up and going.

The Haunted Mansion Holiday stuff will be up for the ride, but otherwise the park will be in Yuletime mode.

Not sure if 11th is checkout day (probably is but my brain isn't working 100% today), so I'm adding the night just in case you need that info.

GCH 333 7th through 10th, 432 for the 11th.


Great rates NOT so much! Rather nasty.

I'd go with the expedia thing, maybe.

I just got off the phone with central reservations for you and like the pp's said, no 'AP night' rates available yet.

That expedia rate looks pretty sweet considering what's out there right now...

They will probably release the special 'AP nights' rates closer to the time that you're wanting to travel so keep checking with them.

BTW, my call was fairly strange...I wasn't allowed to ask for hotel rates until she could identify me as an AP holder. I had to provide my name, address, zip code and phone number as well as the dates of my most recent stay. I was half expecting her to ask for my blood type and social security #

Thanks Molly, I guess you are right about the rates. May have to stay across the street this time, Carousel Inn or somewhere. I need a king bed to be comfortable. If you see specials, etc please let me know.
