My flight just went on sale. I was told by the agent on the phone that I could just cancel my existing reservation and rebook with no fee. Do I get a refund or flight credits if I cancel? I forgot to ask this.

If your flights are remaining the same, they should just readjust the fare and give you back the difference on your charge card (make sure you request it go to your card).

If your flights are changing, that may be why they say cancel and rebook. You should have a credit after cancelling, then book new fares. You may have to call to get the difference back at that point though.

(i saw the specials too today.... got excited..but then saw that the specials did not extend into December for our flight)

You need to cancel first so you can use the credit to book your new flight. It will say these funds will not be immediately available....I've never had a problems so I suggest to go ahead and do it. Then use those funds to rebook your flight..

Thanks. I just tried to modify online to get the credit and I get an error message. When I called second time the agent told me I cannot get it credited to my credit card. I am not too concerned b/c we are definitely flying SW later this year. I am getting frustrated b/c every time I call I am on hold for 10 minutes.

My SW fare just went down, I adjusted it online and got a message saying I have a credit for future travel.I wasnt offered the option of refunding my credit card. I didnt get any confirmation of it other than it being noted on my itinerary. Im wondering if they verify my credit by my existing reservation #?

Unless you purchased full-fare tickets to begin with you can not get a refund to your credit card. You will get credit that you have to use within one year of the original purchase date.

When you need to use the credit you will need to input the original ressie number and the excat name you used of the credit card holder who purchased the original tickets. You can also check the credit amount by going to the Travel Center on their website and click on "View and Apply Ticketless Travel Funds". (again you'll need the original number and CC holder's name)

Not true in every case....last December our tickets were the $79 ones and when they went on sale two weeks before our flight to $49 we got the difference refunded to our Disney Visa card.

Thanks everyone! I finally got a hold of someone to help me. I had to cancel on the phone (problem with my reservation online) then rebook online. I received a SW credit and was told by 2 different agents that there was no way to get a refund. I am sure it matters that I had originally purchased the "promotional fare."
