Need support for John, Kevin & Dreams Unlimited

I know everyone loves the crew, me as well, but it is okay to have a different opinion about Dreams Unlimited.

Everyone here had a great experience, but the person who started the thread didn't. Just to throw in my two cents, neither did I. My experience was not as magical like everyone else on this thread has had. In fact, I was not happy with my agent at all. Now I am not going to bash Dreams or start a "war", but it is okay to have a different opinion. :):):):) The person starting the thread just needed to vent. And a lot of people on these boards have needed to vent at one time or another.

Hey, I'm all up for sharing opinions either way. I just don't think this topic needs two threads, this one is kinda unneccesary.

If someone is paying thousand of dollars to a company to act as an agent for them, when a return call requested by the person that is paying the agent, at the very least a call should be made. If not then they get what they deserve when ressies are canceled or transferred. Plus if the company cannot reply in a timely fashion and discounts and cheaper rates are lost because of the way the company does business then the company should have to make up the differences in those discounts or cheaper rates, if requests were made and rates can be documented.

I tried using DU a couple times in the past, and the quotes compared to what I was able to get on my own were very high. It was almost like they did not use the discounts the I provided them, ie Disney Visa, AAA. When I did try and book a cruise with DU, I did request phone calls back, just to make sure things were OK (over $7,000.00) but were never made. This did not give me a good feeling about the process DU uses.

It is their choice to do business this way, but they do deserve the negative feedback because of this too.

As always....I feel the need to clarify something.

You pay Dreams Unlimited Travel nothing.

There is no cost to the client for using Dreams Unlimited Travel.

Dreams Unlimited Travel will never place a charge on your credit card.

Dreams Unlimited Travel will never hold your money or payment.

All charges are made directly to the travel provider, which in a;most all trasactions is Disney.

After a client completes travel, Disney pays a small comission.

The cost of this comission costs the client nothing. It is paid by Disney.

Dreams Unlimited Travel's services are free to each and every client. You pay them nothing.

FRee.

I think of DU more as an advocate than a Travel Agency. In the business world, I use the same types of service for negotiations on goods and services. Those advocates know what the rest of the world is paying and look for the best prices for my company. The beauty is that I pay advocates nothing. Their compensation is made by the company that wins my business. Those advocates are always "at bat" for me, the customer. They are truly a business partner with the pulse of the industry that they specialize in. Dreams is my Travel Advocate and I know that booking my travel through them keeps the doors open for this great playground we use called the "DIS."

I think we need cake. :cake: or maybe some brownies? :scratchin

Had to edit my post as I quoted someone who has been banned several times for disregarding Dis Board policies.

Figured that was who it was based on the total of 5 posts in his post count. Good grief, the time investment in continuing to troll the boards in quite amazing.

Those brownies look awesome. I only wish I had one of those all corner pans.

Every time I see one of these cake vs brownie threads, I feel the need to throw out Roy's famous hot chocolate souffle --

Hi, we are booking our Dec. 09 trip with DU; we are using them for the first time because we want to participate in Disapalooza (we are major fans of the podcast). So far we have had a positive experience. Our request for a quote was answered timely. The email thing hasn't bothered me; I would make the argument that the emails between me and Carole keep us both more organized in terms of my requests, etc so I look at that type of communication as a positive. I admit as an uber planner I had trouble trusting her with my ADR's; I gave her half to do and I did the other half. I had so much trouble on my own, very frustrated with Disney's online booking system. Turns out as early as I got started it took me hours to get my ADR's; Carole got hers (for me) no problem and her times were better than mine. I think I learned the lesson that I can turn aspects of my trip over to DU and not worry about anything. The only criticism I would have is that I do wish she had booked my ADR's under my phone number instead of hers so I could pull them up online. But that isn't really a problem because DU gives you a itinerary with all your ADR's anyway. Bottom line, TA's provide additional services above and beyond with no additional cost to you.

It is amazing isn't it? I'm not understanding the inability to just move on.
