My DD is turning 9 on our trip this year and I would love to know what you did for your DDs in that age range at WDW.

In general my DD wants to go to the MK and eat dinner where there is sushi and go back to our resort and swim in the evening. I suggested Wolfgang Pucks for sushi and she was happy with that idea.

But what about lunch or breakfast?? How do I get cake for her? Do you all have any other things you did for your DDs?

**we are doing BBB and eating at CRT earlier in the week*

If your daughter wants sushi, I would try to get an ADR at the California Grill. It's a great restaurant for birthday celebrations because of the amazing views you can get of Wishes! Find out what time Wishes is the night you want to go and then request your ADR for an 1 - 2 hours before the show. You can go have sushi and other delicious food and then after your meal watch the fireworks!

You can note that there is a birthday celebration on any ADR's you make. Sometimes, places will give you a personalized menu, decorate the table, maybe a free dessert, or make a specially decorated dessert.

I don't know the number, but you can call and order special cakes. There's a whole thread on it you should check out.

Kona Cafe now has sushi as well at the Kona Sushi Bar and I believe they will serve it in the restaurant. But Puck's is excellent for sushi as well. If you are on the dining plan keep an eye on the official participating restaurant list. Wolfgang Puck has not signed up yet apparently.

def. check out the cake thread...theres some fabulous pics and advice on there. i got dh's cake idea from a pp. i've heard a lot of good things from the thread about the cakes at the contemporary if you wanted to book cali grill. we ate at 1900 parkfare and i was very pleased with our cake i ordered through pat at the gf...but others have had some bad luck there.

another optionis ordering an in room celebration packagefrom disney florist. they can decorate the room like its been a visit from mickey or you can simply chhose from several of their baskets they will deliver for a fee of course!

also have your ta make note on your ressies that youre celebrating her bday down there...often there are small perks- tables at the parks and resorts restaurants can be sprinkled with mickey confetti etc. also she'll get a birthday button and its nice to hear all these cm's saying happy birthday to you! i dont know if it willbe continued or not but this year we had a welcome congrats card and pic from mickey and minnie with a photopass card attached with a 20% off code to use at home. it wasnt there on day one but was for day two.

Thanks for the florist idea. DH always sends the girls flowers on their b-days so that is perfect.

We already are eating at the CA Grill on another day so maybe she can get her sushi fix then. She wants to spend the evening in the pool too(so many requests!) so CA grill is out because its a looong meal.

Thanks for the suggestions so far and I am off to find the cake thread!!

On my DD's b-day, she got a manicure at Periwigs (salon at Y&BC).
We did CRT for breakfast & the Princess/Akersus dinner in Norway for dinner.

We also took an Illuminations Celebration Cruise (the boat was decorated with balloons, banner, etc.) that evening & I pre-ordered a b-day cake :cake:which was delivered to the boat prior to our arrival. We sang Happy B-day & enjoyed the cake while parked in Epcot waiting for the fireworks to begin.
