We are going on the 7 day Eastern leaving 1/9/2003 and I was wondering if anyone had any recommendations for excursions. It will be me, DH, DS (12) and DD (7). Both kids have little fear especially DD and she is a strong swimmer. They both liked snorkeling in Disney World.

Last Eastern cruise my DH and I took we did the Regatta in St. Martin. He did mention going to see the other side of the island.

Any suggestions would be appreciated!

Also, I was wondering if anyone ever had a 12 year old 3 months shy of turning 13 happy in the kids club.......

Thanks in advance...(only 26 more days!!!!!)

We did the Champagne Catamaran with our kids when they were 5 and 9 and they loved it. We'll do it again this April. It's nice because it's longer than most (6 hours) and St. John is awesome.

My DD enjoyed going to Coral World and Coki Beach. We grabbed a taxi at the dock, on our own (DH did the golf excursion). It was very easy. We loved Coral World, and they have snorkeling, etc at Coki. DD also enjoyed the butterfly fram excursion at St Martin.

DS almost 13 probably won't be happy in either place. The lab will be boring (I've got 30+ years on him and I would love to spend some time in the lab - it looks fun to me). If he is a "mature" 12/13 and hangs out with older kids at home, he might do ok with the 13-17 group. DCL needs to do a better job / space for the 12-14 year old set.

I really would recommend staying in the lab. He's old enough that you should give him check in/out privliges - so he is free to come and go as he wants to. You have to set guidelines for him to follow. This is where having a notepad in your room will come in handy. You can leave notes for each other so you know where to find each other if need be.

The best thing would be for him to hook up with a buddy, someone to hang out with in the lab or stack depending upon which group he goes with. Then they can go to the movies or pool or ping pong or the lab/stack/common grounds together.
