We are taking an unexpected trip to disney next week (yea!!!) but our budget is tight since we had not been planning to go anywhere --- just wanted some suggestions on inexpensive (relatively speaking :) ) places to eat (food courts would be okay for an evening meal ) but we are not wanting counter service for dinner --- thanks in advance for your help!

bob p -- thanks for your response - i guess i'll be spending the evening going over menus! we will go one night to earl of sandwich - do you have any other suggestions?
again, thanks for your input!

Where are you staying? we stayed at Pop Centurey and were on the dining plan, but we found that if we were paying out of pocket, we couls split portions a lot. The $7.19 flat bread sandwich plus an order of fries $1.89 could easily feed my wife and I.

That's less than $5 a piece. You'd pay that at Mickey D's for pure junk.

They had a shrimp noodle bowl for $6 someodd not listed too. That was enough for two also.

The half chicken and rib combo at Cosmic Rays with a couple of extra sides in MK could have fed our whole family of 3 at lunch for about $15.

DH and I often split meals. At burger places you can order a double burger, ask for an extra bun and then you have two burgers! Especially good at Cosmic Ray's or Pecos Bills with the great toppings bar. Trails End Buffeteria is probably the cheapest buffet on property, and a nice boat ride from MK to Fort Wilderness. Earl of Sandwich has very reasonably priced sandwiches and salads (DTD). In AK the kids' pizzas are the same size as the adult ones at Pizzafari.

I am another vote for Earl of Sandwich. We really love it!!! :thumbsup2 I would also say that sharing is probably our best money saver. The meals are generally huge. We usually share and don't worry too much about whether it is going to be enough. We figure that we will be snacking soon anyway. Usually when we all order because we think we need more food, it is a waste.

At the CS restaurants that serve burgers, order a double cheeseburger and an extra bun. The extra bun is a small charge I think it is under $1. Then 2 of you can eat a nice size hamburger for practically the price of 1. :thumbsup2

you can't beat $4.95 for a sandwich that will fill you up. We ate there about three nights. We were staying at SSR and walked to DTD to pick up the sandwiches and brought them back to the room. We're going back this December and plan on eating there some more!! :cheer2: :cheer2:

Thanks guys...I am glad for this thread, as it looks like there is a decent chance that DH, DD3, and I will also get to take an impromptu trip to WDW! We too will be short on the money, will probably only spend a day at Epcot(maybe one at MK), but will also spend time at DtD. The more money saving hints the better! I do agree with the Earl of Sandwich tip, and we've also done the extra bun/double cheeseburger thing!

if you go to AK flamtree BBQ is a great place to eat. Prob the best in the whole Park
