Need suggestions for adult dinner

Myself and my DH are going to the F&W in Oct for our birthdays. We will have three nights kids free so I want to plan two nice TS meals for us. We will not be on the dining plan and I need help from you experts as to which are the best restaurants.

We are staying at the YC so anything in that area would be great.
We also don't like fish so FF and BZ are out.
We would like to go somewhere new so Teppan, Via and Beirgarten are out.

I have looked into
Yachtsmen
Shula's
Il Mulino
Le Cellier
Open to other suggestions if I missed a good one

Most will say Shulas but since I'm not a steak eater, I prefer Il Mulino. It's definitely the best Italian you can get at WDW.

Is there any reason you are not considering Bistro de Paris upstairs in France? We've had several wonderful adult only meals there.

Yachtsmen is also a great place to dine, we go every year and have always enjoyed our meals. My favorite is the filet w/ augratin potatoes. My DH loves their lobster bisque and any cut of beef. Yachstmen sundae is also very good.

This year my DH and I are going to try Shula's for the first time,we have heard excellent reviews and alot of people say the steaks are the best. So we shall see. Go to restaraunts.com for coupons to Shula's, and others at this resort.

Lecellier is also a must do everyyear as well the mushroom risotto filet, canadian cheddar soup and pretzel bread, YUMMO!

I would also say Shula's but I would also recommend Bistro de Paris for a grown up meal.

I haven't ruled out too much yet....just places that are mostly fish and ones i have been to already in the past. I'll look at Bistro too.

I noticed the restaurant.com GC's but i'm a little afraid of the restrictions. I have purchased some in the past and then only after i had them was given the full restriction info. It says not during events and it's during F&W. I guess i could call and ask.

My husband is also a CM so we get 20% off some of the Epcot and Resort restaurants.

Il Mulino is my favorite on the list(going to Shula's first time in Oct). Have had good meals at both Yachtsman and Bistro.

Jury is still out for the new Le Cellier dinner menu.

My suggestion is not on your list. The California Grill at the Contemporary was the best meal we ever had at WDW. DH and I were able to go alone, and it was three hours of relaxed, fine dining. I highly recommend it!

I agree. California Grill is absolutely top notch. My mouth is watering just thinking about it and the view of Magic Kingdom and Wishes is really priceless.

Bistro de Paris is only open for dinner.

Might I suggest Jiko over Il Mulino? It gives you a chance to check out AKL which is a beautiful resort if you have never seen it, grab a drink and look out over the savanahs. I have nothing agienst Il Mulino, but if you have a nice Italian restaurant where you are from, it gives you a chance to try something different.

my wife and I had a great "date night" dinner at California Grill ... really good food and having a drink out on the observation deck watching the fireworks was really nice

... also, since you are there during F&W festival there are a lot of special meals that you could look into. The details aren't out yet for 2011 festival (at least not that i can find) ... but the food and wine pairing meals are really nice, so something like that might be a thought

I was possibly planning one of those tasting meals at Bistro durring the day.

I have read really good things about Jiko also...only hesitation is I am not going to have a car...not like i can't just take a cheap cab ride over the AKL though. I really want to plan nice dinners since DH and myself will be there kids free!

Jiko & California Grill are my usual two suggestions for 'adult' dinners out. We've had great experiences at both of them multiple times.

As Pakey mentioned above, since you're considering it, if one of those Epcot area dinners fall through for any reason, Bistro would be a great consideration for a replacement.

I was VERY disapointed in Le Cellier. That place is so overrated, it was the worst steak i've had. Fatty and tasteless. Needless to say, i wouldnt recommend that place! Lol!

Thinking about booking a meal here...whats good on the menu? Do they do a lot of sushi (we are NOT sushi fans)....what time would be the best to be able to see the fireworks?

If you are staying at YC, go over to DHS and take the bus to AKL (probably your easiest way there without a taxi). We weren't really impressed with any of the desserts at Jiko so after dinner we head over to DTD for Ghirardelli's and a nice night-time walk. It's my girlfriends second favorite date night at WDW, her first being Flying Fish or Shula's then spend the night at JR's. Another nice date night (incase your looking for ideas) is dinner and a late round of mini-golf (Fantasia Gardens is accross the street from the Swan).

Thats so funny cause that is what we are going to do. Dinner at shula's then JR's and dinner at CG and then Ghirardelli's....i love Ghirardellis. So now its just deciding which place to book on our last night. Maybe i should let DH pick one.
