I'm thinking about a Disneyland trip for my family this summer. I originally wanted to stay onsite but I'm not seeing any fabulous discounts for August and we need to have 2 separate rooms (not interested in a suite). So I'm thinking that we might stay at one of the hotels across the street or a little further but the hotel has to have really good plush beds (comparative to the deluxe hotels at Universal or WDW) because one person in our party has back/hip problems and would be miserable without, especially for a 5 or 6 night stay. Any suggestions or should I just cough up the cash for one of the Disney hotels?

Hmm well I have to say the very best beds I've experienced are at GCH or DLH. Both are really superior, and the rooms are nice and quiet so I get a solid night sleep onsite and am always truly grateful. Offsite, I would say the beds I've slept in are at Candy Cane Inn. They are not as good as onsite but bot bad.

I like the heavenly beds at the Sheraton hotels. The Sheraton is across from the toy story parking lot and is within walking distance, albeit not the shortest walk. Their rates are pretty good too & they have a great pool.

Peacock Suites.

My mom has fibromyalgia and will not stay anywhere else. Beds are great.

Thanks for all the suggestions. We are thinking of doing a couple nights over by Universal. Any suggestions there?
