Need suggestions again!

Hey all, I was postiviely set on Feb. 25 2008 as our date for our wedding. Had everything almost planned and couldn't wait to make the ressies and call to dftw. I went on to mousesavers and took a look at the seasons category and its lists Peak Season: February 15 - April 14. I don't want peak season do I? So I looked again and saw Value Season: January 1 - February 14. I could do late january. I looked up crowd levels and there suppose to be nonexistent. I'm used to nonexistent because we always go in september. Anyways do you guys/gals think this would be a smart change. It would be know problem to change it and I would be able to start making ressies and the call right now. please give me any input

Honestly. I have been there most of the time during peak times, so that is what I am used to. It's usually because that's when we can travel. There are pros and cons of ever season. I think. It's really what you want. I kinda like the crowds and the excitement myself. Also you need to look at when people can travel. Is there kids coming? that would have to take time off of school? Hope all works out well.

If peak season means hotels are pricier then you might want to consider value season - if you want to save your guests some money. Even though the prices might go up - it might not have anything to do with crowd level. Another thing to consider is the weather - if you want any outside activities (Illuminations Desert party) it would be warmer later in the season. January and February are hard to figure out in Florida. We were down there Thanksgiving week and the following week. The days before Thanksgiving were cold and the week following were very warm.

Yes this is all very true. I have a lot to consider. My main consideration was the price of disney POR. Also the AAA discount is more in value season....20% compated to 15%. I still have a lot of thinking to do. As far as weather I try to compare this year to next years time frame and so far it's been really nice. Our wedding will be at sea breeze which is outside but so far it seems really nice weather.

I agree with princessdisneybelle. I originally wanted my wedding to be in September, lighter crowds, hotels would be cheaper for guests, etc. However, a lot of people in my family are teachers or are in school, so September would notbe a good time of the year to have the wedding b/c they'd have to miss school or not come. This is why I chose June, but now we'll have to deal w/ more crowds, more expensive hotel rates, and the heat!

Do whatever is best for you and your guests. If you are a custom bride, your guests will receive discounts at certain hotels anyway. Good luck

We just went thru the same thing. We realized that the date we selected was smack dab in the middle of Peak season (we had picked March 13th), so we moved it to the beginning of Feb to get value season. We just told everyone about the change in plan last week, and it was well recieved. When we looked up the difference in pricing, some hotels it was as much as $80/night less jsut by moving the date up a few weeks. I'd say, write it all out, the pros/cons/etc. Figure out what is most important to you/DF and what will work best for your plans/your guests and go from there.

If it'd be no problem to move the date to value season, I say go for it. In my experience, less crowds =more enjoyable trip. And, it means better room rates for Disney hotels. Like some other posters said, you can never really predict Florida weather (esp. in the winter months)...sometimes it's an average of 50 degrees for most of january-february, and other years it never seems to go below 70!

If you and your guests want to visit the parks, the value season is definitely the way to go. It's great not having to wait in long lines!

I had to change our wedding dates after making all our ressies and having everything set b/c my DF is in vet school and we found out he would still be in clinics when we planned to have our wedding. It was a real pain to change everything. If I could have I would have left everything to the original date we chose
