hi i am a newbie here. i have just found this wonderful site but don't have much time to browse through all the messages so i am asking for your help...

I will need strollers for my 3yo and 14mo for our upcoming trip in October. I have a Zippy and a cheapie free umbrella stroller from TRU that has no sunshade.

I would like to maybe buy a double stroller since I don't have one but not sure which one to get. My 3yo is 35 lbs already and I would like to be able to get as much use from it as possible.

Or do you think I should bring my Zippy and buy another single stroller? or just bring what I already have? We are staying at the Dolphin and not renting a car.

What would you guys recommend?
Thanks in advance for all the help you can give me!!!

How many adults in your party? More than two I would definitely bring the Zippy and maybe get a Maclaren umbrella stroller for the older child since they go up to 55 lbs you'll get a lot of use out of it. Plus you really want to have a sunshade and a small basket and the cheapy umbrella will not be fun to push all day. Even if it is just you and DH, 2 strollers should still be fine. You just park one if you have to.

At 35 lbs and 3 yrs old, you probably aren't going to get much future use out of a double so unless you can get one from yard sale or Pennysaver, I don't think I'd spend alot on one. Most only hold up to 40 lbs. Plus they can be a bugger to push when you have a larger child in it.

I've done the double at Disney and this year I am taking two singles because I hated manuevering the thing. I am taking a Mac Volo and Peg Pliko P3. I have 6 kids and my baby will ride in the P3, 3.5 yr old in the Volo and the 5 & 7 yr old can take turns riding on the foot pegs on the P3.

I think your kids are the perfect ages for the sit-n-stand. It has a reclinging seat in front, with canopy. The back has a seat, that the older child can sit on rear facing or it slides out of the way and the older child can just jump on and ride standing. This is great for older kids who jump out of a stroller as soon as it stops, walk more then they sit.

However, this is not a good stroller if you think your older child will sleep while you are on the go.

You said your 5 & 7 year olds ride on the foot pegs on your P3? If you don't mind telling, how much do they weigh? I have a 7 year old ds who normally wouldn't want a ride, but sometimes after a long day he would appreciate it. He weighs about 50lbs and the baby riding is about 22-23 lbs.
Thanks!

I will have to weigh him tomorrow and I will let you know. I am pretty sure he is around 50 lbs. My little girl is about 27 lbs. I couldn't find any weight limit for a child using the foot pegs and it seems fine when he jumps on for a quick ride. He jumped on while we were at the zoo a couple times. I really love the stroller a lot!
