We are taking our grandkids to the Magic Kingdom next week. We are flying from OK. Should we bring our double stroller with us or rent one at the park? Our grandkids are 3 yrs. and 8 mo. old. Our stroller reclines so the little one can take naps. Do the strollers at Magic Kingdom recline? We are bringing their parents too, cause they cried when we told them they couldn't come! HA! :rotfl2: Does anyone have a picture of a rental stroller?

Also, do you need carseats when you ride the Mears shuttle? Thanks for any help you can give me.

No carseats on ME as it is a bus. We also bring our stroller so ds can ride in it to the bus and then again after the bus to the hotel room Sorry just read that you are taking Mears, we have taken a van with mears where the car seat can go in, but then also have taken a bus with mears were you can't hook in a carseat.

Rentals do not recline. They are exteremly large with very little storage space (read diaper bag). I would not under any circumstances use the rental for a child under two--would wait until the third birthday before even considering it. Besides, you'll most likely want a stroller outside the parks as well. That is when we get looks of envy & are told (very frequently) how they wished they brought their stroller.

It looks as though these rental strollers are not suitable for infants, is that correct? I have an 8 months old that is no longer in an infant car seat but needs help sitting up in a stroller. Does Disney not offer any suitable for infants? Thanks

I wouldn't put an 8-month old in a WDW rental stroller, especially the ones at the MK. They are hard plastic and do not recline. ryty44, I haven't seen any suitable for an 8-month old.

Lulu71, Thank you so much on your insight and advice. I will be dragging my stroller from home. It is more sanitary anyway :teeth:

Thanks Again

We just returned after using our personal double stroller and although it was sometimes difficult on the bus, we couldn't have managed at the resort (POR) without it. We were close to a bus stop, but not the food court, so we used our stroller a lot while at the resort and while waiting for the bus after the parks closed. I recommend taking your own until the kids are old enough to walk most of the time.

BRING YOUR OWN for the grandkids- we always do and now this time have 8 month old also- those rentals get hot and don't recline. ALSO, you will want it for getting to the buses and trams. TRUST ME on this one- this is our 5th year and our oldest is 6- we've always brought our own. When he was 5 last year and I was pregnant we didn't bring one, but that was it.

good luck, have fun

OH MY!! Definitely bring your own! The young ones you have with you will need it!
I hope you have a great trip! :yay:

Bring your own stroller. Also bring a baby bjorn or some kind of carrier, because there are lots of places baby can go that the stroller cant.

Definitely, without a doubt, bring your own! true, you can rent them in the parks, but the real trouble comes when you are leaving the parks and have a hike to the monorail, car, bus whatever, and then back to your hotel room. after a full day in the parks, the 3 yo won't want to walk, and you will all be too tired to carry them! when my kids were 18 months and 3, i used a big double stroller at home, but for our trip i bought two inexpensive graco strollers (no true umbrellas as they reclined and had shades on top, but still very lightweight and only about $30 each). that was the best thing i did, so this way we could split up if we wanted and it was much easier to handle the two smaller ones on the buses, etc. plus each child had their own "space".
