We booked for our Oct trip (this year) at The Wave

Menu looked good and we wanted to try something new.

So lay it on us..

We have back up ADRs over at another TS but before we cxl them (yes, we will!) wanted to know more about The Wave

We all loved it and were trying to fit it in for our next trip but since we will be with my sister's family and she has an almost 4 year old and an 18 month old we are doing character meals and dinner shows. I had their version of a chicken pot pie and it was great, loved all the seasonings and it reminded me of grandma's italian chicken and polenta dish that she made for me as it was my favorite. I remember that the dessert was a sampler with 3 different creme brulee in it. The food was excellent and the atmosphere is very enjoyable. As long as you are not trying to entertain toddlers, you should be fine;).

Thank you very much for the feedback. We have just us and our kids who are 11 and 9 so they would be fine.

Anyone else?

We ate there in March and Aug and it was incredible! Click on both links for a ton of pics and full reviews

The Wave is a great restaurant and I highly recommend it. I am a very health conscious eater and found the menu had a lot of healthy choices. I normally only make one ADR on trips, after having The Wave on my next trip I will make two, Boma and The Wave.

We ate here in June. It was terrific. My best friend is gluten free and the waiter and chef were awesome. The food was delicious. I recommended to friends who traveled in July and they also had a great meal, and they were traveling with a vegan......

We had a great dinner at the Wave during our trip in August. My mom and I had the steak (very good - and the sweet potato/parsnip stuff was yummy too). My husband had the lamb with something that looked like couscous and he also enjoyed his meal. The raspberry smoothies were really good, but very filling, and were included on the dining plan. We each got a different dessert sampler and shared so we could try a variety. The only one that was really not good was the chocolate-mint dessert on the sugar free sampler.

We would definitely go back.

I HIGHLY recommend The Wave! We ate there in May and it was a favorite of our whole family. Great atmosphere, fantastic service, and really, really yummy food. I can't remember exactly what everyone had, but we all cleaned our plates. And we really weren't hungry for dessert but we couldn't resist the sampler (yum!). We're headed to Disney for a quickie trip in December and we're excited to eat there again.

I particularly like this restaurant (and want to support it) because it is so refreshing for Disney to open a restaurant where the focus is making really delicious and fresh food, not just mediocre food served as part of a pricey character meal or in a restaurant with some wacky theme. Let's hope they keep up the good work!

glad to hear some good wave reviews! im checking it out next week and now im really stoked to try it out! :thumbsup2

We've eaten at the Wave twice: once last year for lunch and once last month for dinner.

Lunch was a bust. We didn't really like it.

Dinner was INCREDIBLE. We had ADR's for Rose and Crown, but we got stuck on Test Track (and needed to be evacuated off the ride because it shut down) and missed our ADR. The Wave almost always has walk-in space (we made a last-minute ADR) and so that's where we ended up.

I had steaks at California Grill and Le Cellier that week and the filet (and mashed potatoes) at the Wave surpassed both- by far. Maybe it's because there's such high expectations for steaks at CG and LC, and they were good, but that dinner might have been the best meal I had that week. Really fantastic.

We ate at the Wave on Sept 6 (the last night of our trip) and, although we enjoyed our meal, I would have to say it was the least impressive meal of our trip.

Our entrees were all good but the desserts, which we had looked forward to trying, were nothing special. The other problem was slow service but that was likely just our server.

Most people I have seen like it but I am not sure we will return next trip.

Just adding to the mix. We ate there last month for the first time. Party included myself, my wife, DD 7, and DS 10 months. While the atmosphere was more "adult", the kids were fine. The food was good, not great, but overall, I have had better at WDW.

I had the beef tenderloin, my wife, the flank steak. Daughter had the fish of the day. All the meals were satisfactory, but again, nothing extraordinary. The desserts were a huge disappointment to us. Small, and other than trying to look fancy, nothing to write home about. I don't mean to sound like we didn't have a decent meal, but it was just not "great". This feeling was probably increased due to the below par service we received. Again, not that our waitress was bad in any way, just very inattentive. She pretty much took our order, brought us our drinks, and never visited again until I had to get up, and ask another waitress for refills on our drinks. Yes, this probably put a huge black mark on the experience.

Would I eat there again? Maybe, but only if I could not get a reservation at any of our family favorites. i.e. Boma, Cape May Cafe etc.

Been there twice for lunch. (No dinner, yet.)
First time was fine. Second, the food was not bad tasting. But I ordered a salad and it was almost all stems. Very little food. For $18, I expect a decent salad. Mine was an appetizer size salad.
Not that I would refuse lunch there again. But not in any hurry to return.
Have not tried dinner there yet.

Ohh -- saw it was a $15 salad. Italian Chef Salad - Mixed greens tossed with red wine vinaigrette served with prosciutto, cappicoloa, provolone, salami and shaved parmesan $14.99

Will we be ok with a 21 month old for an early (530) dinner? Do you think it might be faster service earlier in the evening? She's pretty used to going out to eat at home

The cocktails look more impressive than the food. By the way, is the lounge getting more foot traffic than The Outer Rim?

I just finished checking out both of your reviews on The Wave. Great reviews and the pictures made my mouth water. I even looked at your review on Tony's Town Square. We are having dinner at The Wave for the first time in December and after reading your reviews, I'm even more excited about going. We have often said that we wanted to try Tony's again. It's been a very long time since we've been there for dinner. Again, your review has encouraged me to eat there on our next trip. Thanks you.

highly recommend it:thumbsup2 excellent food and the service was wonderful, the atmosphere was very nice as well. you will not be disappointed! :goodvibes
