Need some tips for extra magic!

My sister and I are bringing our mom to WDW Dec 12-19 (in park 12th-18th). This is her "Make a Wish" trip. She is battling uncurable/operable cancer and this has always been her dream...to see the Christmas lights at Walt Disney World. We will not be bringing any kids. This trip is just the 3 of us.
I need to know if anyone has any tips/tricks for making this trip extra magical for her. It is more than likely her last trip to Disney. We do not have hopper passes and at this time do not have tickets to Mickeys Magical Christmas Party. We are staying at the All Star Music (only place we could afford last minute) but will be walking through her dream resorts (Animal Kingdom Lodge and Boardwalk).
We are so excited and don't want to miss anything!

I'm so sorry to hear that, and I think it's so great what you're doing! Right off the top of my head, I would say take a sleigh ride at FW, I believe they take you around to see all the decorated campsites. Definitely tour all the deluxe resorts to see the decorations. I've seen pics of WL and GF- so beautiful!! Maybe have flowers or some kind of basket delivered to her room? If it's too costly, maybe bring some stuff and set it up while she's out of the room.

Being a CA survivor with children, I can tell you that spending time with you is what will make it the most magical for her!! Just make it as light hearted and relaxing as possible, and I'm sure she'll love it!! Good luck, and I hope everything is perfect for her and you.

Wishing you a magical trip! The first thing that came to mind are matching necklace lights! Either the ones they sell at the parties or one you can bring with you. It's a small way of dressing for the season. Best of luck!

We did this in 2007 when my mother was in stage 4. It was a wonderful way to enjoy one another without the distractions of home.
My tips from experience:
Rent an electric wheelchair for your Mom if she gets tired easily.
Plan loosely, she may not realize how exhausting WDW can be.
Take the time to enjoy long meals at QS and TS restaurants.
Take tons of photos, consider buying the memory maker package to be in more photos yourself.

Candlelight processional at Epcot
Pick a pearl at Japan pavilion/ Epcot
Riding monorail to resorts to see Christmas decorations
MK Fireworks/electrical water parade from Grand Floridian or Poly

A Very Merry Christmas Party

It is so wonderful that you and your sister have this time to enjoy your Mom together. I hope that it goes wonderfully.

If you can't afford one of their advertised premade baskets ( and not many can) you can buy the items online individually and have them make a basket out of it. I did this when my daughter honeymooned there and I had snacks wine and glasses waiting . She sent a picture of it and it was impressive. She definately thought u spent a ton if money.

Disney is already soooooo magic! Just enjoy being there the three of us and you sure will have a great time!

Very sorry to hear of this but happy you are celebrating her life.
Inexpensive things that are magical at Christmas:

Go to the GF hotel to see the ginger bread. Go in the evening and sit and relax while live music is played and/or singers are in the lobby. It's lovely. Go out side at the GF at night and watch the water parade and wishes from their beach.

Go to the Boardwalk area and go see the carousel display. Pig out at Beaches and cream for a special not too expensive treat or the Boardwalk bakery.

Fort Wilderness also does a wagon ride instead of carriage ride. Carriage rides are pricey but the wagon ride is around $15 a person. Takes you on a tour of the campground where campers go OVER THE TOP in decorating for the holiday. It's fun and very memorable.

Go see Santa at DTD and get pictures taken with him. Memories galore.

Above all, take your time and let Mom pick things to do and see. And a scooter for her is a must. The average person walks something like 7 1/2 8 miles per day at MK. That could really be a lot for anyone let a lone someone who is battling as she is.

My suggestion would be to do the afternoon tea at the Grand Floridian (ask if you can sit by the windows) and bring a camera.
Afterwards listen to the piano player or the Band play while sitting in the lobby (GF). I believe they start around 3:30PM.
