Ok, kind of a strange situation, but here goes. We're leaving for Florida in 6-10 days, depending on work. Now, DW and I do not use a credit card, so I made a deal with my mother-in-law. The idea was that she would buy the tickets using her credit card and I would in turn pay for the first 2 months of her NHL season tickets, so it equals out about the same. :rotfl: The only problem is, the official site says it takes 10-13 days to ship international Fedex, so we can't use that option. Will-call and print@home both require that you have the credit card used to purchase the tickets when you pick them up. We're looking to buy either preferred annual passes or the 14 day 3 park pass. I called the US help desk and they said that if my wife had any ID with her maiden name on it, then we would be ok, but unfortunately, she doesn't. I tried undercovertourist but they only have 7 day tickets max, which isn't quite what I'm looking for, especially as it's more expensive than the 14 day pass! I really want the preferred annual passes the most, as parking and food discounts are included. Any ideas of what I can do here? Any other reputable sites that offer the annual passes? Help! :goodvibes

How about this? Give the money to your MIL and get her to put the money on a VISA gift card. That way it would be a credit card...for all intense and purposes that you could then use to purchase the tickets. If you decide you want to go with the Preferred AP, I would just wait until you arrive and purchase them either using the gift card or use cash. You would need to buy them at the parks and they would be activated once you go through the gates.

Would that work?

I don't think you need the credit card for pick up at guest services. As long as you show photo ID and it matches the name on the AP I don't know why there would be a problem. There are people who buy passes for others all the time.

It would work and we can do it, but we're kind of setting this up as a small "loan". That's why we're going to be paying for the NHL season tickets for a couple of months. My wife is an educational assistant and doesn't work during the summer, so we're trying to cut some of the expenses down. We can afford to do this ourselves, but it would eat into the money we've put aside for emergency use. Universal tickets aren't cheap! :lmao:

Oh, and in case anyone is wondering, the bills are all paid and we've put aside money into our savings, so we're not ignoring the real stuff so that we can go to Universal.

If your mother-in-law orders it under your name (not with her name) you can pick it up at Guest Services rather than the kiosks. But if her name is on the order you won't be able to pick it up unless she specifies you as the pick-up person. That needs to be done via phone and even then sometimes it isn't entered on the order.

If she orders it with her name, you need to have picture ID matching the person who ordered it. Since your MIL isn't going she won't be there to show her ID.

You only have two worry-free choices if you are using her cc. She can give you her CC to swipe at the kiosk or you must use print-at-home. I know that the website says you need the CC for print-at-home but you do not need the CC. Once you print them at home, these are your tickets and you won't be asked for the credit card at the parks.

And the other choice is to order by phone and make sure they specify that the order will be picked up by you and make sure they have that info on the order. Technically this should work smoothly but this can be worrisome as sometimes, the person on the phone doesn't enter it correctly on the order.

Personally I'd just do print-at-home for multi-day tickets.
