Our front door sticks. If you don't slam it shut, it won't close all the way and the wind will eventually blow it open, enough so that the cats can get out. Its happened before many times with the kids and we're constantly yelling at them to "close the door!". Tonight it happened, by my hubby of all people! and it can't be a worse night. We're to get temps down in the teens and icy rain. We found one cat, but I can't find my other cat. He's all black, a big baby, around six, and has never been outside a day in his life. He has no idea where "home" is, doesn't know that those fast cars going around the corner will run you over, and always snuggles in the covers to keep warm at night. I already know I'm not going to be able to sleep tonight. We've been searching for two hours now, and can't find him. I know its silly, but please send some "go home Binx!" vibes this way so he won't freeze outside tonight.

Thank you.:sad1:

Its like having a kid all alone outside at night. Yes, he's a cat and can probably take care of himself, but my furbabies are just that - my babies. :)

I can't even imagine - my cat also has never been outside.

I will be sending "go home Binx" your way.

Oh dear.....
here is some "please go home safely Binx" dust for your furbaby :wizard:

I bet he is just enjoying a little trip outside. They are pretty smart! I would keep calling him and maybe even open up a can of tuna, to try and lure him in.

Sending you lots of pixie dust. I love my fur babies, too and I know that it will be a long night for you.

Keep us posted!

Do you have any sound 'tricks' you can try? We hit the side of a can of food w/ a fork and Kitty comes running. But, w/my old cat we had to run a power can opener because that meant 'treat' to her (thats how we opened her special cans of food...)...it was pretty funny one cold and icey night to see my sisters on the front proch w/ the extension cord running outside, so they could run the power opener to get her in.

Poor kitty - hope she comes home soon.:grouphug:

"Go home Binx" :wizard:

Make sure you check in nearby trees...the last time one of my (declawed) furbabies got out, we found him 10 feet up a tree!

Praying your kitty heads home soon!

I hope your kitty comes home soon!

Does he come when you call? Or shake a can of treats? Or hearing the dry food hit the bowl? Or the can opener?

Now I am worried about Binxie too!

Please let us know when he returns. Maybe hang out on the porch for a little bit and shake the box of cat food. he may be nearby but just scared and hiding, if he hears you calmly talking or sitting there, he may venture over.

Ok Binx, enough fun for one night. HOME NOW:woohoo:

I've also heard that you can put some of his and your items (blankets, t-shirts, etc) out around your property so he can smell them and know that this is "home".

I hope he's home soon!

::go home Binx!!::

I hope your sweet kitty finds his way back to you soon! I second the suggestions to find a sound that makes him come running and try to lure him back in. Keep us posted!

Sure hope Binx made it home safely.

I am sure you did but did you check all the shrubs and other hiding places right outside your home. I have a big baby cat that I am certain would not not wander too far away from home, but if he got outside, he would be scared out of his mind, and he would hide.

Same here. My cat is a HUGE baby; his first instinct on being in an unfamiliar situation is to hide. Here's hoping Binx is curled up under a bush somewhere close!

GO HOME BINX!! :cat:

Our kitteh stays right around the foundation of our house when she sneaks out, so she's never very far. Wouldn't surprise me if she found a spot to hole up 'til she finds her way back. :grouphug:

I would make up some flyers with Binxie's pic and your contact info and

*go by all the local veterinarians, drop off a flyer
*put some up around the neighborhood (Before your staple/tape them up put them in those page protectors to keep any ink from running)
*go to every single neighor whose property abuts to yours and leave off a flyer
*If you know any kids in the neighborhood give them a flyer, kids notice things that adults miss plus they're lower to the ground.
*go by any animal shelters, leave off the flyer.
*if there are any stores nearby, ask to put up the flyer
*if your neighborhood has a website, maybe put the flyer online there or just post a notice

Here's a prayer that your kittycat is home soon.
agnes!

Put a rubbermaid box with some towels on the porch just in case he returns home he will at least have some place warm to lay.

I have a good feeling he will come home. He probably is hiding somewhere near your house. Keep watching for him--they are pretty smart and their sense of smell is very good. He could be visiting someone in your neighborhood.
