We visited Vero Beach Feb 19 and 20 and we loved it. The beach area is very nice. You can rent chairs and cabana's on the beach. Even though we were there during Presidents Weekend, it didn't seem too busy. (The resort was full too) We had an ocean view inn room with a private balcony. The room was a little bigger than the studio's at BWV and BCV. My kids had a ball. They had activities to keep the kids busy such as unbirthday party's, camp fire, pool games, croquet, mini golf, playground, sand building contest, etc. (They give you a list of what is happening and at what time)
The resort is set up with the inn rooms in the middle of the complex and the villa's to the sides of the inn and the beach cottages which are single standing buildings directly on the ocean.
The restaurant (Shutters) was okay- but reasonable priced. They do have another restaurant called Sonya's ( more upscale) and a bar /casual dining option too that has entertainment at night for adults.
Since we were only there for 2 nights we didn't go off the premises at all. The resort itself has a very relaxing atmosphere to it. Since we were in bed by 9:00 (preparing for Disney World) i don't know about the night life in town.
There is also an outlet mall south of the I-95 probably 7-10 miles away.
You can also learn to surf, rent jet ski's or go on a bike tour (I think it was 10 miles).
Enjoy if you go.
