WHAT AM I MISSING???

I lost about 30 pounds last year with WW and have had to stop going to the meetings because of some financial things. I have gained back about 10 of the pounds and need some motivation to keep going and lose the rest on my own! I'm tired of tight clothes and I refuse to by a larger size, because I know that I can lose the weight. I've done it before, so IT CAN BE DONE!! I'm not a huge vegetable eater. I have recently changed to whole wheat bread. I go to Curves 3 times a week. I'm moving 1100 miles away from home (from S.C. to Iowa) in the next few weeks and will really be able to focus on weight loss then. My husband is pretty fit and doesn't have to worry so much about his weight. I have an autistic son, so I don't get out of the house a whole lot except to go to Curves, so walking is out of the picture for right now until school starts back in August. What else can I be doing?? What am I missing????

scroll down a bit on this page and join the recommitment thread started by MelC -- at it's best we post a new thread each week and say aloud our commitment for the week and then report back to each other. great accountability!!!

believe in yourself -- you CAN do it! no sense beating yourself up, take each day anew and try to stay positive!

how about WATP videos in the morning b4 your son wakes up??? a 2 mile one takes only 30 mins and would be a great balance inbetween your Curves days???

hang in there -- keeping posting!!! first things first -- positive thinking -- i have been where you are for almost a year now and FINALLY i think i'm in the right place mentally to break out

karynnix - You can do it...I'm struggling too to get started...was doing real well a couple of weeks ago then I started feeling a little sluggish and I turned to carbs and couldn't stop. I too have a son with autism. I use food to escape the moment - the times when he is demanding/screaming/tantruming - food becomes my friend who I can run to. I keep trying to find substitutes for that but nothing works. It has to be something that can be interrupted all the time. Knitting is too tough to put down and start up again. So is reading. On the other hand, his autism sure is a motivator of sorts: I know that I will have to be in good shape for a long time - as he may well be dependent on me for many years to come.

Maybe we can motivate each other and find good, lasting strategies! I'm sorry that you have a move to coordinate in the middle of all this!
