Over a year ago I met a woman on a pregnancy site, she was due 5 weeks before me and was going to have her baby at the same place Boo was born and Ellie was supposed to be born at. We spent a fair amount of time talking and after the babies were born we shared our tramas. We met at the birth center picnic in September and had a chance to chat a little bit. We e-mailed back and forth as time allowed. I had a mail from her a few weeks ago that she was having some health problems but she was upbeat as always and was expecting things to improve soon.
Last night I got a call from one of our midwives, she was calling to let me know that she passed away in her sleep on Friday from a brain tumor. She had just turned 31 and had an 8 month old little girl.
I can't even find the words to express my pain and sorrow for this family, her prognosis was excellent, but she passed away before her surgery.
Her DH and DD could use all the prayers they could get right now - the whole situation is just so sad! I've been in and out of tears since I found out last night, makes Ellies health issues seem so minor now.

One of my worst fears was to die before my children knew me. How sorry I am for her family.
for you.
for her family and for you as well
I'll never understand why things like that have to happen. Her little girl won't even remember her - too sad for words. I'm so very sorry.
