We just purchased our vacation club membership. We are a 24 year old couple and I am sure we will not be vacationing more then once or twice a year.(for right now at least) How many points do you think is a decent amount to start with. Thanks.

That really depends on what kind of vacation you want......What we did was we took into account that we vacation about once every 2 years in DIS and stay in a 2 bedroom suite, so we figured out that 220 would be OK when we purchase....until we looked at other options "oh, the cruise would be great" etc..so we just yesterday added on 50 more points at Wilderness Lodge:pinkbounc .

We just bought 200 this summer. We're staying for 9 days at BWV and VWL in Feb. and will still have enough for several more days later in the year. We could have had even more days if we saved some points and stayed at OKW or didn't use points for Fri. and Sat. We considered 150 but thought it'd be too limiting if we wanted to go twice a year. So far 200 seems to be working for us. Good luck!

Forgot to add that we'll almost always get a studio (unless our kids drive us nuts in future years!). If you want more than a studio you may need more points. We don't spend much time in our room so a studio works fine for us.

We just purchased 170 points in May, fully expecting the two of us would stay in a studio. Staying in anything larger seemed frivolous and an unnecessary expense. But, we splurged on our first 'trip home' to VWL and stayed in a 1 bedroom. If you think Disney is addicting, wait until you experience the luxury of a 1 bedroom (w/d, jacuzzi, 2 TVs, HUGE bathroom area divided into multiple rooms, 2 rooms to live in-- so you can be doing separate things, and space, space, space). Now, we need more points.

WARNING!!!
DANGER!!!!!

NEVER stay in a 1 bedroom is you think you'll be staying in a studio most of the time.
