We will be staying at Royal pacific at the end of June. This will be our first time at Universal. Where would everyone recommend to eat. A place that should not be missed and a place for a quick bite to eat. Any other suggestion would be helpful. Thank you all in advance! :cool1: :cool1:

are you referring to just the hotel, or overall?

There's a LOT of choices if you are asking about the overall options, between the 3 hotels, city walk and the 2 theme parks

I am referring to the Hotel and the Parks. Just a couple of ideas would be helpful. I will be staying with my wife and 2 daughters ages 16 and 14.
Thanks again.

Although I haven't actually stayed at the hotel, Tchoup Chop is highly reccomended, and isn't as pricey for lunch...

In IOA, Mythos is very good all around, food, atmosphere, service. It's a full sit down restaurant but the prices aren't really much more than the counter service places.

Finnegan's at Universal is also a good sit down restaurant, most places in that park are good, except Mel's

Don't overlook Thunder Falls Terrace back in the Jurrassic Park section of IOA We by passed it for years and finally went in last trip. Good food (counter service) and nice atmosphere. Try to sit over by the splash down of the River Adventure ride (you don't get wet) if you go.

to keep your budget in track this is what i recommend. For the universal studios side I would suggest eating at Luigi's pizza in the past I have found this to be a very cheap meal for four. There was a sign out side of the restaurant that said large pizza 13.99. We got the 13.99 pizza I think there was 9 or 10 large slices, then I got to large cokes no ice and 4 cups of ice and one slice of cheese cake for everyone to nibble on. With my annual pass discount I paid under 20 dollars for the whole meal.
On the island of adventure side we went to the jurassic section called burger diggs. I ordered two double cheeseburgers, 3 orders of fries, two extra buns, and 2 large drinks without the ice and four cups of ice with my annual pass discount i again paid under 20 dollars for the who meal.
Here is a helpful hint. If you go to universal studios look for the white and red striped workers with a clip board in there hands if you qualify for a survey they offer free stuff sometimes. It is worth your while. p.s. don't tell them you knew to look for them it may disqualify you.
If you have an entertainment book don't forget to use the coupon for a free meal and a movie. This is a value of 20.00 the tip is included when you use this coupon. If you don't have one of these books go to www.entertainment.com You don't need the one for florida to use this coupon as this coupon is in every single entertainment book. Wait til the books are discounted before purchasing them. You must order it at least 3 to 4 weeks before you leave to insure that you get them in time.
helpful hint take only a small fanny pack. Don't carry to much with you.
Annual passes are a wonderful thing. I suggest one for everyone.

At IOA try Mythos definitely. It is very good, and different from standard themepark fare.

At CityWalk we loved the Hard Rock Cafe. I know some people aren't crazy about HRC, but we all liked it a lot. There is rock music memorabilia from all eras, so there were things for my husband and I to look at and things our teenage son found interesting. We ate there 3 times during our last trip in August and we always had good service and the food was good. Try the appetizer sampler. We ordered it as a meal for me and ds to share. Also, their chocolate shakes are delish. Your girls would probably also like Margaritaville. Try the coconut shrimp there. It is very good.

At US, there is a fish and chips place in Amity...can't think of the name now...but their fish and chips are very good. It is a good place to get a quick bite and enjoy a meal outside while people watching.

The kids are old enough to tour the parks on their own, and you can stay in touch with cell phones. They may want to do their own thing in the morning and you can all meet up for lunch.

Mythos is a great idea. Take a lap around IOA, then head to lunch around 11:30am. There may be a 10 minute wait, but it's ok. Don't over eat, save room for desert. There is free soft bread to get you started. The Wrap of the Day can feed two people, it comes with plantain chips. If you save room, you can share a desert called a Taste of Chocolate. Total food bill if you share will be about $25 for two people. Wrap is $12.95, desert is about $8, and then tax and tip. Pictures are here.

I talk about sharing, because on our last trip, a couple near us ordered a meal for each person, ate most of it, then didn't have room for desert. As we walked out, they mentioned how jealous they were of our desert.

The other idea is arriving the Hard Rock Cafe at 11:30am, and share a couple appetizers, like the Jumbo Combo. Again, you save money doing this, and don't get too full that it makes you tired.

My last idea is to order pizza in from Flippers. Scroll down this page for info and the menu. This is a good idea for when you want to stay in your room. Salads, pizza, and sandwiches are great.
