Need some ideas

I'm helping someone plan a DL trip - they already paid for onsite hotel/park tickets. It's 2 adults and 2 teens. If you had an extra $1000 to spend at DLR how would you spend it? They were thinking of upgrading their room but it would be way more than $1K.

I was suggesting World of Color dinner package, VIP tour, behind the scenes tour, etc. I am more experienced with WDW. Is there anything you can think of that might be fun to suggest to them?

Fantasmic Dinner package
World of Color dinner package isn't really needed as the FP for WOC is much easier to use when compared to how Fantasmic FP is.
If you have an extra day check out the Universal Studios Hollywood VIP tour. Its an awesome experience if you like the movies.

A VIP tour will be closer to $2000.
If this is their first trip, I would suggest:
Dining at Blue Bayou (they can do Fantasmic seating for this too.)

Walk in Walt's Footsteps Tour

Chef's Counter Dining at Napa Rose

Madera Spa Treatments at GCH

Cabana rental at their onsite hotel

I would only suggest WOC dining if they had a desire to eat at one of the restaurants offered.

I wouldn't spend the money on a room upgrade. We never spend that much time in our room to warrant the cost.
There are so many exciting things you can do with the money instead.

I think those are awesome ideas, Girimama33!

Especially the cabana rental, which would mandate a nice relaxing afternoon by the pool! Make sure to call and reserve as soon as possible, I hear they're going fast. I believe if you are at one of the resort hotels, you can reserve a cabana at either DLH or GCH. Does Paradise Pier offer cabanas?

I keep thinking it would be neat to hire a professional photographer to take family portraits in DLR, like people do for WDW weddings!
