Our town had an autumn/Halloween Carnival two weeks ago. I will list the events in order of successfulnes. (if that's even a word!)
1. The Candy Web-Net was tied to a fence, and clothes pins were used to attach goodie bags filled with rings and pumpkin toys. (I recommend Oriiental Trading.) Even if you don't fill them all the way, use decent sized bags, as it fills the wall better. We got hundreds of customers.
2. The Wet Witch-I was the witch (warlock actually) and I had to wear a garbage bag, and stick my head into a hole in a painting. When my head was in, it was over a witch's body. (The kind of thing you take pictures in.) The little kids threw wet sponges at my face, and it was painful, but they looked like they enjoyed themselves. (The little stinkpots!) Almost as many customers as ^.
3. Face Painting- We had pirates, flowers, pumpkins, etc. Pretty busy.
4. Pumpkin Bowling, Sack Races, that kind of thing. We also did that thing where you pour paint into the spinny thing and it makes a picture. There were maybe 8 events such as these.
5. I don't think that Apple Bobbing is sanitary at a carnival. You have no idea who did it before you. We didn't do that at our carnival.
MAJOR success.
PM me if you want more specific details. BTW, I was a volunteer through Key Club, and got to do items 1 and 2. I only looked at the others, but they seemed to get steady business. And if it's a warm day like it was for us, definitely sell ice creams or snow cones.
