Hmm, well to start off with I can think of one thing that I am going to be doing even though it's not my DD6's birthday when we go in August.
I bought some Disney things (either on clearance at the disney store or various stores that carry Disney stuff-so far I have found really cute stuff-cheap) and I am bringing them along and every night when she goes to sleep I am going to leave out one or more things (either wrapped or with pretty bows) and I am going to put a note "From Tinkerbell"
(You could tell her that Tinkerbell knew it was her birthday.)
I can't think of anything else right now but I'll let you know if I do!
We'll be at Magic Kingdom for my DS's 3rd b-day! I spoke to a CM yesterday and they suggested we visit Guest Services upon entry to get a special "It's My Birthday" pin for him. I thought that was a great idea, he'd love all the extra attention! She also said we could pre-order a birhtday cake for dinner that night, we'll be eating at the Crystal Palace -- he's a HUGE Pooh fan! It's a 12" cake for around $15, I think.
Hope you have a great time!
You can get her hair glittered at the barbershop for $5 plus tip. Our DD loved this and she got so much extra attention. She was wearing her Belle dress and the woman did her hair just like Belle. It was some of the best money spent at the parks.
Have fun...we got our DD a cake when we took her for her birthday...it was the best cake ever.

For the boys they do use colored hair gel and pixie dust. When we were there I saw a little boy get a blue Stitch in the back of his hair with gel and they spiked the top and put the pixie dust in. They also did a Mickey shape with gel and the boys and dads loved it!
DD4 had her hair styled and pixie dusted. For DS's second birthday we went to City Hall at MK and he got the birthday button and the CM said there was a message for him from Goofy. She handed him the phone and Goofy sang "Happy Birthday" to him. Then she asked how many were in our group and gave us vouchers for ice cream bars! We had an ADR for breakfast at Crystal Palace and told the CM it was his birthday and the table was decorated and our server brought him a birthday card signed by Pooh, Tigger, Eeyore and Piglet. Then they brought him a cupcake with a candle. It was fun! We also celebrated that night at Chef Mickey's. It was a blast and he had a special placemat for him that was like a birthday card. I ordered a cake and it was really good and cute, but I don't think I would do it again. There are so many desserts to choose from on the buffet and by the time we had dinner that day, we had all had enough sweets! Enjoy your birthday celebrations!
Be sure to tell everyone where you eat that it is her birthday, you will usually get a special treat. If you have extra money, because this costs about $200 for mom and child, go to the perfect princess tea party at the grand floridian. We did this to celebrate my daughters 6th birthday. All the little girls wear princess dresses or party dresses and they are announced as "Princess________" and showered with rose petals as they enter and given a tiara. At the table they are given an american-girl type doll in an aurora outfit and a small charm type bracelet. There is singing and story telling by "rose petal" and then sleeping beauty comes out and greets and dances with the girls. They make a special fuss over girls celebrating a birthday. It is expensive, but my daughter and I will remember this for a very, very, long time.
We're also having my younger DD's 4th birthday in Disney!!!
We'll spend the day of her birthday at the MK and I'll get her the birthday button to wear For dinner, she chose to eat w/ Cinderella-so we have ADR's @ 1900 Park Fare. I want to order that "Cinderella slipper dessert" to be delivered to the restaurant for her. Topping off the evening watching Wishes.
