Leaving for the Fort in just a few days. Looking to try to plan some fun, yet inexpensive things to do around the campgrounds for the family. Any ideas?

Thanks

One of my favorite things to do is watch the blacksmiths work on the horses. Very interesting guys to talk to. They will tell you anything you want to know about disneys horses.

Everything peg110 said!! Edit to add, find a place to just chill and people watch!

You can rent canoes, very reasonable. Here is a photo from our trip in March, lots of fun.

They also rent fishing gear, and bikes, or bring your own.
Hayrides are also a lot of fun, and not too expensive. There is also Putt Putt golf just a short bus ride away.
For free fun, resort hop and look at all the amazing Christmas decorations.

There are also pony rides if you kids are young enough. Think it was $8. They also offer horse back riding if you have older kids but I am not sure of the price.

So letting the DW row while you enjoy a adult beverage? Good man! LOL Will also agree with resort hop and check out the Christmas decorations. Grand Floridian for the Gingerbread house, Contemporary for the chocolate carousel. Wilderness lodge just for decorations. One day we rode the boat over the MK, got on the monorail and just rode the monorail around a few times. Changed from resort to parks monorail so we could take a trip through Epcot.

Actually it was my nephew rowing while my brother in law enjoyed the beverage. There were three canoes total. I am the DW of the DH in the second canoe (with my niece) and the one taking the photo from the 1st canoe. Funny story is another camper on shore tossed the beer to by BIL and my DH (in the 2nd canoe) because he felt sorry for them that they were having to be involved in the whole mess. My sister and I were not doing too well in our canoe (mostly going in circles), and my niece (with my DH) kept running them into shore, and my BIL and nephew sort of just had to wait it out for us, lol. Loved every minute of it and try to do it each time we are there. We are getting better.

Just an idea actually mentioned above .... Hay rides are about $8. For Adults, and $5. Under 9 yrs. Two rides each night leaving from near Trails End. Good time for this due to the Christmas decorations you can see and the holiday songs they sing. Saw a group coming in a few nights ago all laughingly ... Looks like a fun time for the family.

Another inexpensive idea is to ride the WOW transportation. Take the boat from FW to the Contemporary Resort, hop on the monorail to the Ticket and Transportation Center, take the EPCOT monorail, ride the tram at EPCOT, monorail back to TTC, Ferry boat to Magic Kingdom, boat back to FW. There are other possibilities, especially if you add the buses in, but that's a way to try.
