need some help

me and my gf are planning a trip to disney middle of april 12th thru the 16th. I was wondering if any1 would know of a good offsite hotel to stay at that is fairly inexpensive, where both still in school so we cant spend that much, or i would just stay onsite!

not to picky about the hotel as long as its clean, and maybe have shuttle services to the park?

If you require shuttle services to the parks, you'd be crazy to stay off-site. The Disney Value Resort rates are competative w/ many off-site places, and way better.

I'd definitely consider staying off-site (and we do) with a car (we drive down), but I'd never stay off-site without a car.

The big advantage to staying off site is the size of accomodations. You can get a place with bedrooms and a kitchen for the same price as many of Disney's Moderates. If you are getting a hotel room and staying without a car, off-site doesn't offer a whole lot of advantages.

naw i will have a car, where driving up from miami! i was just wondering about the shuttle to avoid the parking lots, but driving isnt an issue

Since you have a car, if having a kitchen and separate BR is important to you, there are several places that are cheap and decent off-site. If that's not that important to you, I'd definitely stay at a value resort.

We've stayed at Vistana Villages in a 1BR, but it was a timeshare exchange, and Star Island in a 3 BR (my father's timeshare). We've also stayed at a 3BR villa a couple of miles out on 192, not a bad drive from the parks, with my in-laws a few times. It wasn't super nice, but it was big and clean, and I think they paid $99 per night. Not sure the name of the place, though.

You could probably get it down to about $110 with a AAA discount.
