Need some help with "quality" shoes...

New Balance are the best! Our NB store has sales all of the time - just got the baby a 60.00 pair of shoes for 34.99, and his older sister a pair for 29.99 from 65.00.

We only buy high quality clothes and shoes - we don't shop at Walmart for anything, and we don't buy shoes at Target or Payless either as they are garbage.

Good luck - I'm not sure about what the store is going to do after 4 weeks, but give it a try, Tiger :)

My children are grown now and no longer fit into Stride Rite, but that is what we bought when they were younger. They had wide feet and overpronation and needed the width and sturdier construction. QUOTE]

We buy DS Stride Rite shoes too. The reality is that most younger kids have wide feet, and Stride Rite is well constructed. We find them sometimes at Marshalls, and sometimes at the Stride Rite outlet.

The Sears Kidvantage program guarantees that kids' clothes (and shoes) won't wear out before they are outgrown. If they are, they will take them back no questions asked (save your receipt, just in case) and replace them with a new pair.

I don't know where in IN you are but we head to the Edinburgh outlet periodically for stride rites for my friends' little girls. There is usually at least one pair on the back wall in their size for $15.00 and my friend says they last better than other brands.

Not in my Canadian city - they always ask questions and sometimes refuse to take clothes back. They also only send clothes out for repair, which takes weeks.

We don't buy any kids' clothes at our Sears as the quality is bad, tacky looking styles and prices are high. Adult clothes are great though!

Another GREAT place to buy shoes is Bass..... I've purchased shoes from the Bass outlet many times and they're great shoes and the prices are beyond excellent.

O.K., I'll be in the minority here. My daughter has regular feet-not wide or narrow-so, it's easy to buy shoes for her. I do buy shoes at Target and Payless becausee, in the long run, buying two-three pair of cheaper shoes will be about equal to the money you will spend on one good pair of shoes. This year, my daughter has had 3 pair of sneakers since the beginning of the school year. She does tend to be sort of hard on shoes. She really enjoys getting a new pair of sneakers every 3-4 months. I like it too since the shoes look nice when they are newer. Let's face it. Even good shoes get really dirty looking!

I do want to second what the poster said about Crocs. For outdoor wear, you can't beat them. And my daughter's last pair lasted over two years.

I don't expect money back on the sandals. I don't like the idea that they'll think I'm trying to pull a fast one. It's just aggrevating me. I checked the calendar to see exactly how long it's been since Eater (I gave them to her in her easter basket), and it's only been three weeks. And it's only been warm enough to wear them a handful of times. :headache: ERRRR... I guess what I really want is to complain. I'm going to see if Target's website has a place I can log a complaint.

Guess I'll be off to the shoe stores this weekend. Going to need two more pairs for the kids before our trip...

Thanks again.

Why wouldn't you at least try to return them? In my personal experience, I have always found Target to have an excellent return policy as long as you have your receipt or the credit card you purchased with.

All they can say is no and at least you'll feel better because you tried.

I'll 2nd (or 3rd) Land's End. Their shoes are excellent. They hold up well and you can get them for good prices if you check around. I go in to Sears stores that carry them and look for sales. The black nubucks that my son is wear now I bought last year for $8 and they are in excellent shape.
