need some help with a trip????

i want to plan a trip for us to go to floida for a week.we went to disney at christmas time i loved it so much i want to go back.here is the thing hubby wont go back for 2-3 yearso i want to plan a trip for a weekfor our 12 yearhoneymoonit wont be until next year but i want to plan it.i work for a hotel and get good rates for that.so all will have left is airfare,tickets and food.maybe even a car rental.it will be in oct.so i can go any time of that month.now when should i book airfare for the best rate.we live in michigan.i see all the good rates for airfare for any where from$39-$49 each way.that is about what i want to pay.any help would surely help thank you.

if your going next Oct chances are you can't book airfare yet but i would wait till about July/ Aug next year and wait for specials. also be careful in Oct because there are a few things going on and it gets busy I think 2nd week of Oct. There is a golf thing and some convention.

Columbus Day week seems to attract a lot of people. We have a school break then and I found much better lodging deals the week before and after the holiday week.

We started planning in June for this September and when the low air rates came out felt really fortunate. Last year we went in October and airfare was twice as much. You just never know what the fares will be. We origianlly had $175 RT on SWA this year and when they went down it came out to $115 so we cancelled and rebooked and ended up with $300 credit for future flights. I was fortunate in that someone else decided to take a trip and used my credit giving me the money instead of paying the airline directly. Not all airlines are as flexible about changing flights though so if you book a flight do it with the feeling that no matter what you are happy with that price and if it comes down and you get the credit towards a future flight(usually has to be within one year of the date you first purchased tha tickets) you are doubly happy. I think this is the cheapest air fare we have had in 10-15 years. HOpe they do it agin in the spring. Happy planning!
