I have heard that there is an ice cream place over the bridge behind the castle going into Liberty Square that sells the world's best home-made ice cream sandwiches. I was wondering if anyone could give me the name of the place & directions to get there from Main Street U.S.A. Also, we have heard that you can purchase an ice cream creation called the "Kitchen Sink" at the Yacht & Beach Club. Does anyone know what restuarant or store has that?

Thanks!

Going to WDW April 2-9 to escape the artic region we call Northwest Indiana!!!

Hello Neighbor!!! (we're in West Lafayette) :)

Best ice cream at WDW:

The ice cream parlor on Main St. (right on the corner next to the Main Street bakery)

Ghiardelli in Downtown Disney (my favorite!!!)

Beaches n Creme - at the Beach Club Resort

ENJOY!!

The "kitchen Sink" can be purchased at Beaches n' Cream.....located at the Yacht & Beach Club right next to Storm-along-Bay pool....

Ghiardelli's!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!:bounce:

Just hearing that word makes me wish I was down there and off my diet!!!:p

You mean there's ice cream at WDW that ISN'T a Mickey Bar?;)

I never realized that...

You may want to try the Ice Cream Social at The Land Pavillion at Epcot. It's offered most afternoons at the Garden Grill Restaurant. Mickey, Pluto, Chip & Dale entertain & the ice cream is yummy!!! This is a must every trip for us.

Ghirardelli is to die for. I must say the freshly baked chocolate chip cookie ice cream sandwiches from the Main Street Bakery are amazing.

DH and I saw people walking around with cookie ice cream sandwiches and decided to try one. Little did we know that the ones we saw were pre-made frozen ones, and they were a little smaller than a Carvel Flying Saucer. If we knew the truth, we never would have ordered two--they were enormous! Two huge cookies and a ton of ice cream. They were sooooooooooooooo good, but we could not come close to finishing them. We could have happily shared one!

I love Beeches n cream. Last year we bought a banana split from there and shared between 4 adults and still had to put some in the freezer!! Thank goodness we had a freezer in our room at the bcv!

The place you are referring to in Liberty Square is called Sleepy Hollow. It is a great place to grab a snack while waiting for the parade to start. They also make homemade caramel corn that is delicious. From Main Street U.S.A., go to the castle and take the pathway to the left across the bridge into Liberty Square. Sleepy Hollow will be on your right after the bridge but before the Hall of Presidents. We also love the Plaza Ice Cream Parlor on Main Street. Also, if you like ice cream shakes/malts, the 50's Primetime Cafe at Disney-MGM Studios has great ones. There is a lounge connected to the restaurant where you can order the shakes to go if you just want a quick treat. princess:

Okay if you're looking in Magic Kingdom: {to get to Sleepy Hollow go upto the Castle then turn left into Liberty Square, it's the first shop on the right. Secondly the best soft serve in the park is in Mrs. Potts in Fantasyland. It's located between "Snow White's Scary Adventures" & Winnie the Pooh. If you go there get the strawberry shortcake, but have them make it with chocolate ice cream instead, it's a dream.} The Disney MGM Studios: For Scoop Ice Cream goto the Ice Cream stand right in front of the Hollywood Tower of Terror, across from the Fantasmic seating area. But above all you should try the Peanut Butter & Jelly Milkshake at the 50's Prime Time Cafe (One of my Personally Favorite Theme Park Restaurants). I know it sounds odd, but it's so good, I'd almost go there for the shake alone. Beaches & Cream is also extravagent from what I've heard, but if you're gonna have Ice Cream not in the Parks there's one in particular that I would not miss. Most would say Ghirardelli's but unfortunately folks I don't wanna break it to you (the Ice Cream they use is Edy's Ice Cream with their chocolate or hot fudge on it. You might as well goto the store and get more for cheaper. If going to a place outside of the theme parks I would goto Marble Slab, it's not on WDW property, but it's right across the street from Downtown Disney Property. If you goto the Downtown Disney Entrance off of 535, it's in the Crossroads Plaza, right next to a restaurant called Jungle Jim's. There the Ice Cream is made to Order, and it's all made on a Marble Slab it's a beautiful and wonderous thing, I highly reccommend it!

beaches and cream was good but imo not nearly as good as Ghiradelli
( no offense to the previous poster;) ) I do not claim to know the brand of ice cream they use but the warm cookie sundae with their hot fudge and carmel toppings is truly the best sundae I have ever eaten anywhere, the gold rush sundae was good also but not as good....the main street bakery (white choc chip cookie...yumyum, choice of I think 3 kinds of cookies) ice cream sandwich was also excellent but not so the prepackaged ones from the vendor carts..I am not a giant fan of ice cream so I only go for the good stuff, otherwise I'd rather have something else...these 2 were worth it!

for something a little different try the LeCellier choc. bread pudding with tarragon ice cream... sounds disgusting but it definitly is not !

No worries, no harm no foul. Everyone is allowed their opinion and here at WDW diversity is what makes this place great! I was just point out that as a CM I know for a fact that Ghirardelli's uses Edy's Ice Cream, and don't get me wrong when I'm at DownTownDisney I'll easily stop there but ever since I found that out it just hasn't had the same appeal, but I have to agree their chocolate and hot fudge is to die for!

Beaches and Cream! We make a special point of going there every visit.

My personal favorite - the No Way Jose. Chocolate fudge and peanut butter. mmmmmmmm. Kills the diet with just a couple of spoonfuls, but who cares? It's worth it.:Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc

Now, as far as the kids go, the panda paw ice cream on a stick at AK and those huge striped popsicles---those are their absolute favorites.
