Need some help please

My friend is going to WDW for the first time in November. It is just her and her husband. They have a reservation at CSR at the AAA rate of $118 per night (including tax). She is wondering if she should join the Disney Club. If she booked a package at CSR which included the length of stay pass, what kind of savings would she get with Disney Club? She called and the price for a package for 2 in November at CSR without any discouts was about $1800 for a 7 night package. At that price she is better off using the AAA rate for the room and just buying passes when she gets there. But, she is wondering with Disney Club what kind of discount she would receive off the package price.

Anyone know so I can let my friend know. I want her to have a great trip as they probably won't be able to go again for awhile. Thanks!

For me (the official WDW trip planner for our family), booking the room and buying the tickets separately (with the DC card) has always proven more economical. I believe the discounts are about the same with AAA as with DC for rooms and passes. However, with the DC card you get a discount at most Downtown Disney stores and restaurants plus the use of an 800# for priority seating arrangements and room ressies.

Since your friend is going for 7 days in November, another option would be an annual pass. Passholder discounts on rooms can be significant and the cost may be justified if one person in the party gets the pass. Passholder rates & dates vary from year to year, so I would check with central reservations for exact info.

She should also check the mousesavers site on a regular basis for discount codes even better than AAA or DC.
