m pricing my vacation now and I think we have decided on dates... i do need some advice though. I have decided on Oct 25th- Nov 2nd (maybe changing it to Oct 24th) and I was just wondering how many ppl get the full 10 day ticket if they were going for 10 days or do you cut it down and take rest days? Obvioulsly I know we will need to rest lol. I was thinking 6 or 7 day tix and then adding wp&m. My other question was: now they have the PH and wp&m at a discounted price..... anyone use this?
Right now we are booked at POR. Hubby wants to stay at Poly BUT I know it will be wayyyy more money. I am not sure if 10 days is even worth it... it seems like a looooong trip! Thoughts? Our kids will be 6 and 10
I also posted this in the resort section but i wanted to get other families advice on how long they stay

We have 2 kids under the age of three. When traveling with or without them I wouldn't do more than 7-8 days. Usually I do a 5-6 day park hopper. We have never done the water parks but will try them when our kids are older. For now the pool play areas are fine. I definitely wouldn't buy a 10 day for just one trip. You will most likely want rest days with no parks. Have a great time!

We went in May/June of this year for 10 nights. Had originally bought 7 day passes with the understanding that if we needed to add on extra days we would. My kids are 14 and 12 and we have been going every other year since they were born, so they know what they like at each park. We never ended up adding anymore days. We spend 2 days at MK, 2 at Epcot, 2 and DHS and 1 at AK. We stayed at Old Key West and the kids loved just hanging out at the resort, so we were much more laid back this trip and it was alot of fun.

When we went for 10 days, we got the 10 park days non-expiring and we only used 7 days. 10 days f non-stop seems a bit drastic, we would be exhausted. We usually go 8 days and spend 6 at the parks, 1 at a water park and 1 as a resort, rest day.

The WP&M option is a very good value. We used it for mini golf and the water parks. Disney Quest is fun, but we will only do if it a rain out day. park hopping is up to you. We tend to hop at least a few days, usually to MK from another park for the later hours.

Poly will be at least 3x the $$, probably a little more. We have looked into Poly and just couldn't rationalize the additional cost. We usually stay at POR or POFQ. We may try Contemporary. It is the least expensive of the monorail resorts.

We're going for "10" days but have tickets for only 8. One day is our travel day and we will get there REALLY late. We have a rest day the very next day (so we can sleep in) and are planning on playing mini golf (2 vouchers included with dining plan and paying for the others), then going to downtown disney. Finishing up with dinner at 'Ohanas and watching fireworks and the water pageant from the beach. Then we'll head back to Pop Century to go to bed and get up bright and early the next morning :)

Rest days are a must for our family, resort days can be just as enjoyable!! It keeps park days that much more exciting too!!! To each their own though :)

We like to take days off.

You can spend a day at DTD, go for a meal at one of the resorts, go to a movie at DTD, resort hop, or just swim and take a nap!

Feeling like we have to go-go-go because we paid for the park tix makes it difficult to relax. It's tough coming home from vacation feeling like you need a vacation!

We do a park every other day.

Our first trip we were on the go every day and everyone was miserable. For our last trip we scaled the park visits back and the kids had the best time swimming and playing and we actually enjoyed our vacation and didn't need a vacation from our vacation.
