we are Americans living in Germany.. and cant wait to go to DLP.. we are new to this as we have only been to WDW once.

we have 6 kids and really just need help figuring out the best deals and where to stay..

from what I can tell, it looks like Davey Crockett might be the only place we can stay without getting 2 rooms? Am I missing a different place? and is this the cheapest option or would getting 2 rooms somewhere be better? (do they even have connecting rooms anywhere?):confused3

Is April a good time to go weather wise and crowd wise? thinking around the 9th.. just for 2 nights/3 days

I have a million questions but will leave it at these for now.. any help would be appreciated! Ive tried reading the other posts and looking at the helpful links, but I just seem to get more confused by them all..

thanks

Ginger

I do think that DCR would be the cheapest option for you. The Explorers Hotel does have adjoining bunk rooms and connecting rooms. The Explorers Hotel is on site but not a Disney Hotel so passes wouldnt be included nor would you get use of the Extra Magic Hours that let Disney hotel guests into the park early on selected dates.

The 9th April is Easter Monday so I would guess the parks would be very busy.

When we were there in April in 2005 we had two cold days and two hot days but that is only my experience. The weather seems o be lovely in Paris at the moment but of course you cant second guess the weather.

Hope this helps a little

We are Americans living in Germany also and we're going next week. We also went over Labor Day last year.

A few thoughts:

you have to call the German line to book, since you live in Germany. I used the UK website to book (because it is in English) and got yelled at by the booking people. But the German ones speak English. The number is 01 801 003 004. They also have different offers for Germans amd Brits and French, etc. But the Germany trip insurance is much cheaper than the UK insurance. Of course, if you speak German well enough to navigate the website, you can book online with them.

Anyway, we have stayed at the Holiday Inn (only 4 to a room) and are now staying at the NPB. I did look at the Explorers online and it looked very cool with the separate room with bunk beds. The Marriott supposedly has 1-2 bedroom apartments but I think it is expensive?

If you are coming from Kaisersalutern, it is an easy 4 hour, straight shot. From Stuttgart, it is about 5 hours through Karlsruhe. No place to use military gas coupons unfortunately, and they do not sell Disney tickets on the military bases.

April 6-15 is spring break for DoDDs and I would expect to see lots of Americans there during that time? Maybe you could go during the week to cut down on people still in school?

Have a great trip, whenever you go.

I would recommend booking off the German Disneyland Paris site as they have offers not available on the US site (but you will need to input a German address)

As to calling the UK line, I say go ahead. I had that line programmed into my Skype and used it several times. They didn't mind at all. I've called the German, French, and UK line with no issues in past.

I stayed at the Explorers Hotel with an connecting room with bunk beds in. It was lovely and very clean and comfortable. It come to £414 for all five of us, bed and breakfast for 5 nights. We did not have passes but we got annual passes as it was cheaper than the 4/5day hopper passes. I would recommend this type of room and I think the Explorers is reasonably priced but it is a little further out than the Disney Hotels. This is not a problem really as there is a free shuttle bus.

I would love to stay at a Disney Hotel and I am looking for the Disneyland Hotel but if I have a problem with 5 people in one room I might have to look back at the Explorers, as I will not be able to justify the supplements and plus pay two room prices.

Davy Crockett Ranch is one of the options for families of greater than 4. Mind you I remember from your previous post you were keen to stay on site because of the shuttle. You will need your own car to travel from DCR to the parks as there are no shuttles available.
We don't find this a problem and we are going back there again in the summer :goodvibes

The explorer hotel has its own webstie. You can book directly with them and their prices are good. They have an offer now with a good price if you arrive on a Sunday.

Might be worth checking out.

I know the Santa Fe has connecting rooms, and can only imagine that the Cheyenne and the others have those too.
The big disadvantage of DCR is that there isn't a shuttle, but if you're going by car, that shouldn't be a problem.

The only problem with the connecting rooms is that you are paying for 2 rooms which could make it more costly.
