My Dh is taking his first trip to WDW. He has not been interested in going before this and is going only because of my work obligations. Do you think we could give him a bit of the "magic" before he leaves? I would love to show him how much fun WDW is from the CB's eyes. Can we make him interested? Can we make him excited? We have until Friday night. I know if anyone can get him interested it is all of you!:) Come on and let him know that I am not alone. Any little tid bit will do.
I would really love the input of our guy Disers too!!
Are you up to the challenge? Will you help??????:)

My goodness, what's wrong with him? :p

My favorite things about WDW:

pin trading

Buzz Lightyear's Space Ranger Spin

Main Street bakery. (cherry vanilla fudge last time, whoo-hoo.)

Who's next?

Okay, but first tell us what he DOES enjoy. :)

I bet we can find something at WDW that will make him happy to be going there. :)

Hmmmmm, where to begin????

Well, for me WDW is all about the Magic that happens while you are there, and the memories that are created.

My favorite 'tangible' thing; having dinner at a monorail resort, and after dinner, doing the 'loop' around the monorail. If you are really really lucky, and ask nicely, you can ride up front with the pilot. After this, if you time it right, head to a beach to see the EWP (Electric Water Pageant).

Ahhhhh, memories. My Nana took us every other year from the time I was 8 until she passed away when I was 22. *sigh* Everytime I go to DIsney, I think of her.

So go already! And start your own memories/traditions.

*psssstttt, how'd I do, Jana?* ;) ;)

Find Mickey and/or Minnie and let them know this is your first time to WDW and let them make it magical for you. Go over to the water fountains in the ground in Epcot where I watched your nieces play in the water and watch the children enjoying the simple pleasures of childhood. Watch Tapestry of Dreams, and reach out to touch a 15 foot puppet, or watch that puppet caress the cheek of a wheelchair bound guest down the line from you. Go to MGM and take in the Streetmoshere performers, and get in the show yourself. Go to Animal Kingdom and watch the performers flying through the air at the Festival of the Lion King, while listening to the beautiful musical score. While in Epcot, take in the American Adventure and let us know if you were able to keep a dry eye. Grab an eclair or other pastry in France, a beaver tail in Canada, a taco in Mexico. How about an Hawaiian luau at the Polynesian or a candlelight dinner at Portobello's over at Downtown Disney. Make sure to stop at the World of Disney while you are there to bring a reminder of your visit back to thoose two nieces. Count how many animals are in the Tree of Life at Animal Kingdom, bet you miss a few. After Fantasy in the Sky at Magic Kingdom, don't rush out of the park with the hoardes of people. You and Jana mull around the hub in front of the Castle, sit on a bench, watch the people, the tired people going back to their resorts to rest up for another day of this. And while you are there, sometimes, not always, but sometimes you and Jana can experience the Kiss Goodnight at the Castle, about 45 to 60 minutes after the last fireworks. Worth the wait, even if does not happen the night you try it. And you can always try again some night in the future, this trip, or the next. And there will be a next, trust us. Enjoy. :earsboy:

Show him where he can get coronas for 2.00.

Where is that, oh wise, feline one? WHERE????

On the Boardwalk, the store there. DH was so excited when he found them.:teeth: He can only drink non-alcoholic now though, he is bummed.

Wish my dh was home to write this one! He was SOOO totally not into Disney the first time we went....that would be 6 trips ago!!:) Now he is as excited...well almost as excited...as I am to have a trip in the works! It's the "magic" that gets you...even if you're not a big believer in "magic". The smile on a little girl's face as she walks up to Cinderella and a boy as he shakes Buzz Lightyear's hand!! Doesn't have to be your child either...they all pluck your heartstrings! My dh loves how happy it makes us...he says our smiles are never as big as they are when we are at WDW. He absorbs the magic through us (that's YOUR job Gemmie!). Smiling cm's and guests, wonderful smells and beautiful sights plus all of those Disney extras around every corner combine to warm your heart and make you feel like you are 8 years old again!! You will LOVE it Gemmie's dh! Have a "magical" trip!;)

Michelle, he loves fishing ( but will not pay WDW prices to do it there). He loves nature so I think he'll enjoy the AK.

Thanks for all the great replies:)

Deb...you did great! ;)

My husband and my teenage daughter really didn't care about WDW. They were going because I paid for them and to humor me.

As we left wdw, the very second we left the hotel, they were both talking about what all they were going to do the very next trip.
Oh yeah, and thanking me.

Disney's not about the fun rides, the yummy foods, or the sunny climate. It's about the magic that surrounds you.:) There's something there that will bring back a good memory from your childhood if you'll let yourself be open enough to find it. Even if it's just watching Tinkerbell fly over Cinderella's Castle at night (that reminded me of watching The Wonderful World of Disney when I was little:) ), or if it's just riding Dumbo.:) Being at Disney is like letting yourself be a kid again.:) We all need that in our life.:)

Besides, we depend on Jana's dh to take some good pictures of Jana for us (bathroom exit pics are very popular around here;) ).

There will be pictues this time:) We have a digital for this trip. I just hope I do not bring the CB down all over our heads trying to post them.:o

Thanks for all your replies everyone. I think he'll love them!:) :)
