I am doing an homeschool exchange with a family from the UK. I need help with what to send. Since some (most?) of you have been to the USA I was wondering if you could give me some help. What items are unique to the USA? Any snack foods..like do you guys have gummy bears?? I hope nobody is offended by this..I truly don't know much about the UK, which is why I'm doing this exchange!
Any help would be appreciated!!
Thanks in Advance!

Ooh, what an interesting question. :)

To let you know, We don't have as much cereals as the americans, eg. No Fruit Loops, Lucky Charms or anything with high amounts of sugar but we do have things such as Frosties, Rice Krispies etc. We don't have as much Nerds (if you liked those sweets. I do!!!) in the UK anymore; some shops still have them but most have left the Nerd franchise now.

We have some well known sweets e.g. Skittles, Cadbury's chocolate but what you may need to think about is that there are differences in the taste to our versions, espicially in chocolates. Chocolate picks up the "flavour" of the country it gets produced in.

I hope this helps you in some way, but I think it maybe wise to search out British Retailers (Eg. Woolworths) over the internet and see what they have and compare.

Thank You!! I had heard about the chocolate difference but I was unaware of the other things. I'll go check out some online British retailers!
Thanks Again!

I love anything by Reesces, I had one smallish icecream bar (magnum type sized) and it had 65% of recommended daily fat all for under 1$ :goodvibes

Hershey tastes of vomit imo.

Americans have loads of extra flavours of pop tarts that you can't get over here.

Thanks Everyone!!!! You guys have given some great ideas! Is there anything other than certain food items that you can only find in the states?
I really appreciate all your help!!
Thanks!!!
