Me, DH and the boys went out for dinner last night. While we were there things relating to Disney kept popping into our conversations.
My (almost) 18 year old asked if we were going over February vacation because he wants to go to Pleasure Island (he'll have turned 18 by then). I said we had no plans to go at this time (I started months ago, but scrapped them because I didn't think DH would agree). So we were discussing it a little bit and I mentioned horseback riding (did that last time and had fun) and then DH said what about parasailing? I said yes, you can do that over seven seas lagoon (right?) so he says......"let's go".
Well...we were all witness to it, in fact my DS-14 wrote down the date, time and location of him saying it! LOL Of course he starts saying I mean't lets leave (the restaurant) but we hadn't even gotton the check yet. Then we start talking about where to stay and he said he doesn't want to stay at a value resort. He wants somewhere pretty. We've stayed at POR before and liked it alot, but we also want to try something different. So thats up in the air.
So the point of all this is I have 7 weeks to plan and come up with the money to do it! The planning part will be esay...sort of, its the money part. I haven't been budgeting for a trip.

My plan so far is this. Pick the resort and price it out. Find the best ticket deal. I wanted to get AP's but I don't know if I can swing that this time around. May just go with a cheaper choice and get AP's for the next trip. I need to budget and then get the money.
So....how do I "raise" money???? LOL I ebay but not a real lot, but I will be listing like crazy. I have 2 change jugs to cash in but how else can I come up with funds?

Here's what I need to budget for. Resort for 5, tickets for 7 days (all adult tix) and food. We eat breakfast in our room so its really only lunch and dinner. We drive down and drive straight through so I don't need to budget for hotels along the way, (but I do have to allow for gas and food). I have some free stay coupons if we decide to stop.
Oh yeah....and parasailing.

help.......

Can you get any discounts on the parasailing. I think we did with the ap once. Is there any discounts for it like entertainment book, birnbaums etc. Can your boys snowblow, plow or shovel driveways etc. Maybe they can help contribute. Give up eating out, mcdonalds etc. Good luck planning. Can you have an indoor garage sale etc

Boy doesn't THAT sound familiar!!! Each time we go to Disney I always say "Don't know when we will be back." Each time we seem to go back sooner than the time before!
If it was just the kids "popping things into our conversations," it would not be a big deal. But there's DH!!! He is ALWAYS "just mentioning" things that he hears the kids say. Like late last week, DH says to me - "Do you know what Katherine said? She said that there are all kinds of new things at Disney World for 2005 and that we HAVE to go!"

And your point IS??? :teeth:

Can't imagine us going again this year...but I have learned never to say never. :)

I should know if you work, but I don't. So if you don't work, could you arrange to possibly work part time until February? I started substitute teaching in November solely for the purpose of saving $$ for Disney (and our NM trip this summer). It has worked out fine. When DD was sick I just told them I couldn't work! And I don't have to worry about what to do with the kids on a snow day! While I don't love working, the incentive of saving $$ for Disney is great! I actually look forward to the phone ringing at 6 am! Didn't get called for today though (boo-hoo)... but at least I can stay home and Dis!..................P
