Need Some Help, Can't Log In / BSOD

Well everytime I try to log in I get a message saying that I need to download the latest Shockwave. So I uninstall then re-install Shockwave and Flash then clear out all my cookies and temp files, but I still get the message.

I have gone to http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=1719041 and did all that everyone has suggested. I even tried BlueHairedMonkey's idea and still haven't worked.

I even went onto another account on the computer (not VMK, still wouldn't work) and got the same message and BSOD.

I would really appreciate it if someone could try and help me out.

This is a recent error, don't worry

just hit "CANCEL" when you get that message and you will be able to get in just fine.

Merely a bug.

Been having that same thing ever since that latest shockwave update which was the day before the really big quest started. I just hit cancel as well. And it takes sooooo long to load, sometimes I hit the refresh button bc the BSOD lasts so long, but it will eventually load.

I get it too Fantasy, every time since I installed the newer version of Shockwave.

Interesting thing to me was, when I first read it, I thought, nope don't want them to install it, I just did! So I too hit "Cancel". Well, that triggered the launch of the install of the earlier version of Shockwave! It overlaid their newer ver.11! (Got to say girl friend, it ruffled more than a few of my feathers!)

Anyway, since then I said, well, I am not going to hit okay.. and I sure as heck am not going to hit Cancel (fool me once.. ). So.. I click the "X" to close that message.

Works like a charm, moves right on to the login screen and away I go! But yes, I now have the "older" version of Shockwave.. but oh well, in less than a month I can go back and load the newer version - after VMK shoots us in the leg.

Omg! So im not the only one!!
this is crazy my dad and brother spend hours on this last night trying to fix this problem.
and still nothing came out of it.
but on my dad's laptop i can log on fine.
i dont get it. my dad and brother said that since vmk is closing they are shutting it down before we know it, which i dont believe since they are releasing all this new stuff...
but i get the same message and if i do click cancel i have to restart my computer now or later to have the installation complete.
now if i do, do that it still doesnt work.
I dont know how to fix this problem everyone say click cancel click cancel. it doesnt work guys.
its scary that this keeps happening.

Sunset, did you try clicking the "x" button instead, like PurpleDuck said? Then log in. If you get BSOD don't try to log in again, just hit your refresh button and wait a minute and see if it starts to load. Sometimes I have to hit refresh two or even 3 times before I get it to start to load. It's been like this for weeks but at least I can still log in even though it takes much longer now. Hope you can get it to work.

Did you ever just try re-installing shockwave and clearing cookies? I need to go clear my cookies now.

Atleast now I know I am not the only one getting this. Thanks for letting me know what you all have done.

I went through so much last night with uninstalling everything, clearing cookies and temp files, restarting the computer, reinstalling everything and doing it all over again because I thought I did something wrong.

But as you and others have said to click "Cancel" or "X", I have and tried logging in last night and it still would give me the BSOD.
So now that the computer has been off all night I am going to try and "X" out again to see if it will work now.

I am so glad to see I'm not the only one with this problem. I thought I did something wrong when the last update was available. I wonder if this problem is related to the lag and occasional log in issues I've been having in the last two weeks.

Well I downloaded Internet Explorer 7 since I saw someone suggest it in another Thread and still nothing.

So what I did was go under another account on the computer and for some reason I was able to log onto VMK. I don't understand why I can't log on under my name, but on another computer account I can?? Wierd.

If there are any other suggestions that someone has to fix this let us know please.
