Hello there,

We just recently activated our AP's..........we're loving them. The discounts are quite nice..........plus we got the 13month when we activated so any extra pixie dust is always appreciated. :tink:

I need some help from experienced AP folks on booking room only so that I get the AP discounts available and I'm able to book ADR's at 180 days (if its even possible o_O).

Ok, I'm looking at a potential trip the last week of August 2017. Since we are "now" AP members I'm also looking to get the best discount available. The issue I'm seeing is when AP discounts have historically appeared and the timing of our trip. In reviewing Mousesavers it looks as if most of the AP room only discounts offered are "within" the 180 ADR period..........if that is or will be the case, how do you experience AP holders book your room but get the best ADR's you can?

Is this a matter of booking before the discount is announced and then calling WDW to get the discount and not lose my ADR's?

Any help here is greatly appreciated.

You do not need a room reservation to book ADR's. Book your ADRs and when you get a room reservation, just link it through MDE.

Only issue I see with this...........is I can only book one day at a time...........I won't be able book past day 180.........which is the big advantage of the room reservation.

For us the +10 is not a big deal. But in your case, I would go ahead and make a reservation to get the +10 and then either change it or re-book once the AP discount comes out. You will not lose your ADRs, if you re-book.

This is what I do when I'm planning on booking using an AP discount.

I stopped booking and trying to apply discounts when Disney changed how they handle that - they cancel your original reservation and then rebook. They can't always keep you at the same resort if it's not showing availability for the discount. And the more rooms that are booked at full price, the less rooms they will discount.

You will not lose your ADR's either way whatever you decide.

could you book the room, then when discounts come out, have it applied?
This is what I just did for April/May, 2017. Booked POR for 4 nights and BWV for 4 nights. Made all my ADRs and just waiting on AP discounts to come out--hopefully by end of year. If not available for the two resorts I've booked, I'm willing to relocate. Good luck!!
