Need some encouragement

If you go in May you will miss the things that are starting this summer. Have you considered early Dec for the holiday festivities and pretty good weather?

My advice is sooner rather than later. Babies are much easier to travel with before they start walking and want to explore.

My DD was 6 months and my son 4 our firsy trip and they were great. It was the end of September and not too crowded. But it was very humid and there were a couple of downpours.

I don't know where some folks get the idea that September is very busy. Except for the first few days of September (Labor Day Holiday), September has very low crowds; probably averages lower than any other month. Labor Day Holiday is on Monday, September 5, this year.

I would go late April or early May based on the weather. I think the crowds shouldn't be too bad during this time either

I have, but December is too cold for water parks and my son loves them. (Too cold from a brazilian stand point)

There is no way that I would leave Brazil in the summer to go to Florida in the winter.

And, to answer your earlier question, I'm also from a place that is very hot and humid in the summer (even more humid than Orlando, actually,) but walking around in it all day, every day makes for a pretty unpleasant trip.

Hi guys, I need some encouragement! I am thinking about taking my family to WDW in September . The thing is, I have a 7 month old daughter and 3 year old son. My son went when he was 1.8 yo and absolutely loved it and really want to go back.
We want to go in September because the wheather is nice, hopefully there will be free DDP and it´s a slow season
The debate with my wife is whether we wait for 6 months and go in a busier season and lose free DDP or just go now!!

My opinion is that these factors like free DDP are not really impacting factors in when to go. Free DDP is not compelling because it leads to busier restaurants and having spent more on the trip by not getting a discount instead. I'm more inclined if anything, to avoid free dining time, having done it before. But it's not a big enough deal that I'd reschedule a trip if we had one planned and Disney announced a dining promo.

For us when to go is decided by when we want to go. In your case... September or March, right? Well, when do you want to go? 1 year old or 1.5 year old are about the same, either way you're going to be stroller-bound. 3.5 and 4 are both great ages for your son to go. It's also a great time to go during school season since you're not pulling anyone out of anything but maybe preschool. So if you want to go now (Sept) I would go! There is no time like the present.

We have traveled with both our kids since DD was 2 (now DD5 and DS2) with DS' first trip at 4mos. Since you're used to weather I wouldn't make that a factor. We love May or October and avoid summer more because of crowd and heat combination than anything. I wouldn't use free dining as a guide as to when to go because honestly the deal isn't great. For us, we save more taking the room discount over dining and with kids that age sit down meals are challenging and stressful. We just eat on the go and spend the extra time we aren't in a restaurant on rides, meeting characters, and swimming. Personally, Food & Wine and the MNSSHP is our huge draw and your DS might love the Halloween festivities.... and if you tour with RDs and using FPs smart the crowds won't impact your personal enjoyment much.

We personally like Sept., but what is your opinion of weather being nice? Everyone's perspective is different, but in general the weather is one of the reasons we consider going during other times and not Sept. The weather is not pleasant. It's very hot, humid and rains almost every day. - Most of the time it's just an hour or so, but there are also days that it rains for the majority of the day. It's very hit or miss and we've had years that we've considered great weather for being in FL, and others which make us really consider changing when we go, but just wanted to throw that out there so you know ahead of time.

If we decide to go in September we would be going in the 9/24 until 10/04. But I am actually reconsidering and might postpone it until end of April in 2017

I would make it the very end of April - Easter is the 17th and you do not want to be there the week after Easter.
