Hi guys, I need some encouragement! I am thinking about taking my family to WDW in September . The thing is, I have a 7 month old daughter and 3 year old son. My son went when he was 1.8 yo and absolutely loved it and really want to go back.
We want to go in September because the wheather is nice, hopefully there will be free DDP and it´s a slow season
The debate with my wife is whether we wait for 6 months and go in a busier season and lose free DDP or just go now!!

Please share your opinion

The free dining isn't worth it, in my opinion, but being in a less busy season is. September is a slow month though.. which busy time were you thinking of? Spring Break?

September is fairly busy, very hot, almost unbearably humid, and rainy. You couldn't pay me to go then. I would wait 6 months and go in March.

Well, some people don't like travelling with a child that young, but many people do it and enjoy the experience. If you're up for what that entails, then go for it! I've never traveled with children, so I can't speak to it specifically. I'm sure you'll have a great time though.

Thanks for the heads up. Even in late september? Also I am from Rio de Janeiro, so hot and humid is something that I am kind of used to

We took our 24 month old and 4 month old to WDW in September last year. Definitely still hot but we are from Florida/Orlando and are used to that brutal heat. The parks weren't super busy but there were still a good amount in the parks. We would do RD and stay in the park until lunch time then back to the hotel to relax/nap/swim. Sometimes we would go back to the parks but not always. Biggest thing is being flexible bringing babies. We never rushed around trying to hit all the attractions, just things we knew would be enjoyed.

I am from the Bahamas and our weather tends to be similar to South Florida on the most part. Weather-wise, September is a toss up. Sometimes for someone used to the humidity and heat its bearable, but sometimes it gets to be too much. I am willing to think that it may be too much for your kids to take at some point during the day. I have also heard that because of free dining, September is become alot more crowded.

Honestly, usually April and May can be a little on the hot side too, but I would be more willing to bet that because there is no free-dining then the parks should be considerably less crowded. I've had people tell me summer is not even as bad (crowd-wise) as it used to, so I would wait.

I'd go sooner, rather than later. Your 7 month old is probably a happy smiley sweet baby. 6 months from now she will turn into a more opinionated, likely walking child, who wants to do things herself. (Based on my experience with two girls.)
Free dining is a nice perk, but are you going to want to sit down and eat a lot of meals with toddlers? I went once in early September with a 4 month old and almost 3 year old and it was very hot and humid. The crowds were low but even my kids were sweating. Just my opinion, though.

I'm not sure I've ever seen Sept in WDW described as having nice weather. Incredibly hot, humid, rainy, hurricane season...

Yep, I think people are surprised that September is so hot and humid. Remember that September is technically still "summer" at least until the 21st!

Even if you come from a climate where it can be hot and humid a lot of the time, most people aren't used to being outside in the heat and humidity all day long, several days in a row. It can really be hard to take, which is why people going in the summer months often take a long break in the afternoon back at their resort, either napping in the room or at the pool.

I used to go in September every year (time share). We went towards the end of the month and yes, it was often hot, humid (but bearable imo) and it is still one of my favorite times to go. I have been every month except July and August. We went once when they were calling for a hurricane to come through Orlando (arrived on Saturday, the hurricane was supposed to hit Monday) and it turned and went up through the panhandle. The weather was beautiful and there were practically zero crowds - walk on EVERYTHING! Until all the people from the panhandle area came in on Wednesday and it got really crowded. It was a wonderful 4 1/2 days though!

Considering he's from Rio, I'm not sure the humidity would bother him :)

We have never bothered with free dining. Just go when you want. If a discount is (or becomes) available .... that is a bonus!

I loved late Sept/Early October this year, only rained one day.

Keep in mind no guaranteed of free dining.

If you are traveling from Brazil, Sept is hurricane season in Florida. Not that Florida will have a hurricane but there is a chance!

I say go in May! I went in early May 2015 and had near-perfect (hot, but not overwhelmingly so) weather and low crowds. I will now make it a point to visit in May whenever possible...
